  4. Hello,

My name is Tonya. I am from KY. I am a Surg.Tech and will be banded on 5-7. Would love to make new friends and chat about OR stuff too. Hope to hear from you soon!

  5. Hi fishy, I too work in the OR and am in the process of getting approved to have lap banding. I hope things go well for you.
  6. Hi Surgerygal, surgery is $9950, airline tickets, car and hotel around $1000. Fill doctor in Atlanta will see me for $500 initially , then $150 for fills. Dr. K will do fills for $15 (wish I lived in Denver)!! I've heard great things about Dr. K too.

  7. Hi, just wanted to say hello. I live in Colorado, about 1 hour south of Denver.. have heard good things about Dr. Kirshenbaum.. if my insurance doesn't approve me I will be going to him for my surgery. If you don't mind my asking, what is it running you for surgery and follow up fills?

  8. Happy,,I too have Cigna ins. and I was wondering about the 6 month Dr. diet? I started seeing my Dr. in January and I am not sure if my 6 mths will be up in June or July? Hopefully you can answer this question for me.. also any heads up on dealing with the insurance or proper path the get approved? Did you PCP write a referral before you started the 6 mth diet?

    shoulder pain?

I am an operating room RN and have had lots of patients complain of shoulder pain post-op. This is VERY common, the reason is that the surgeon instills gas into your abdomen to give them room to move things around and to see what they are doing. The gas takes sometimes days to leave your body. The gas causes abdominal pressure, and the abdominal pressures sometimes affects the nerves to the shoulders. It will go away. Walking helps and if needed, pain medication is sometimes taken.. Hope this helps.
  10. I was just wondering if anyone has Cigna PPO plan and if they had any problems getting approved for surgery. I am in my the process of doing my 6 month Dr. supervised diet and was just wondering if Cigna is going to give me problems getting approved.
