Hi gang! I have done well overall, despite a *lost month* in bandster Hell before I could get my first fill. I lost great the first 4 weeks and then gained some back and am now back to losing. I am not sure what could be doing it, but I now seem to have more restriction, about 3 weeks AFTER my fill. Hmm...I am not complaining. I like the restriction, but I still have head issues. I really enjoy eating and have to make myself stop before I get too full, otherwise I am uncomfortable. Guess that is what the band is for, LOL! I have joined Curves and have been working out 4 or 5 days a week. I am surprised by how much I enjoy it! I bought my sister a membership, too, so she can come keep me company. We are trying to keep each other motivated. She had RNY 4 years ago and has gained a few pounds back. Oh well, off to work!

:clap2: A big congratulations to you, Barb! You are an inspiration to all of us. Good luck on the rest of life's journey!

Sorry I haven't been around for awhile. Congratulations all you new Twoterville citizens!!! I had seemed to get stuck at 297 for the longest time and kept gaining and losing the same 2 pounds. Very frustrating and too close to the border for my comfort! Grrr! But this week the scale seems to be cooperating again. Yipee! It is strange--My first fill was 3 weeks ago and just now seems to be really kicking in. Anyone else experience this sudden improvement in restriction? Maybe it is all in my head, but it is working, so I am happy!

Just for fun! Poll for TIM.

My doctor didn't require a pre-op diet, other than clear liquids and a bowel prep the day before surgery. I did have to have an ultrasound to be sure I didn't have an enlarged liver, though, so maybe that is why the diet wasn't an issue pre-op. -
Cathy, you are a real trooper and on your way to being a real success story-even without the band. Please keep posting and lose along with us. Hugs...

The scale has finally started to move after losing and gaining the same 2 pounds for over a month! I have revised my goals accordingly--NOt to give up, but to be more realistic. We are having an unseasonably cool weekend here in Virginia. Makes me think of the holidays coming....

Becky, I applaud your honesty. We are all here because we have issues with food and admitting that is the first step to overcoming them. Good luck on your band journey. You are off to a great start!

Totally obsessed here!!! I weigh multiple times a day. Naked with an empty bladder...hmm, I just pooped, let's check again....before dinner...before bed...after exercising. I know it's crazy, but I keep hoping to see the scales move after being barely in Twoterville for so long. My favorite trick (sorry if TMI) is to try to have a bm BEFORE I eat or drink anything: The Ultimate True Weight!!! LOL! Get the straight jacket!

You are losing weight very quickly!!! While that is great, it means you are probably in ketosis. When you are in ketosis, your body is burning fat for fuel. It creates a bad taste and bad breath. How many calories are you getting in a day? Maybe if you upped your calories a LITTLE, the taste will improve, but it may slow your weight loss down a bit. Just an idea.

Congratulations on your progress!

Congratulations on your baby and your marriage progress. The weight will come off later. I agree that you are doing the right thing to focus on the baby right now. I like all the names, but especially yours-CARMEN!! Best wishes!

I have diverticulits and have been banded about 2 1/2 months. Last October I was admitted for 10 days with diverticulitis complicated by gastroparesis (A diabetic complication where the stomach doesn't empty normally.) I have actually done better with both things since the band, except for chronic constipation which probably caused the diverticulitis in the first place. Dulcolax helps with that. I don't eat much corn (including popcorn-Sigh) or berries and my old sesame seed bagels are pretty much out anyway, so it's not been much of an issue.

Wishing you well.

I can SO commiserate with all of you on the eating thing. Like Jack, I find that I just have to obsess about something else: LBT, working out, a good book or magazine, etc. Thank you all for your honesty. It makes me feel like less of a slob.

I think it sounds like you are doing great!!! Are you exercising? Sometimes a little more water and a little more *movement* will get things going again. I am basing this on what I have read here and what I am trying to do, as my scale seems stuck lately, too. Good luck!

New diet I found, and you can loose very quickly!!!!

 LMAO!!! What a great start to my day! -
Yay, Erin and Allison! LapBandit, I know what you mean. I am just barely in Twoterville and seem to fluctuate between 296 and 298. Too close to the border for my comfort. I haven't been very good about getting all my water in, but I have been working out like a fiend. Maybe I will focus more on the water and see what happens. Good luck to us all!!!

Becky, you are gonna do great! Good luck!

You might be a redneck bandster if.... your pick-up truck no longer leans to one side, you no longer have to wear curlers in your hair to balance out your hips, you show more butt-crack than a cable guy because your pants are too big!:faint: :Banane56: -
