    Food (Sushi) is evillll!

This is very timely for me. Tonight I decided to try one of my all-time favourites ... rollmop herring. I picked a big, fat one and seemed to be getting on with it. I chewed (sort of) and it didn't hurt at all, something I really appreciated as ever since my 2nd fill 2 weeks ago, I have struggled with everything. Anyway, get to the end of the herring and I was struck with the worst golfball pain I have experienced so far. Unfortunately, it wouldn't come up, so I walked on the treadmill for 15mins, which seemed to help. About an hour or so later, I fancied something else. I ate 2 spicy poppadoms. Oh boy - the pain! That's it. I'm giving up for today. Getting a small unfill tomorrow as this is really getting on my tit-end now.

    why such secrecy?

Yep, the misconception that the band is "the easy way out" - something I was guilty of believing ... before I had surgery  There was a television prog last night here (UK), where some overweight teenagers were filmed. All of them talked about wanting the band as it would be "the easy way out" ... The other reason I kept it to partner/kids only, was that I did not want people constantly watching me when I ate and/or commenting on the speed of my weightloss - i.e. the expectation might be that the weight would fall off in huge amounts very quickly :w00t:

    Hello Band Goodbye Femininty

I don't get the big burps, but I get constant loud growling/gurgling when I eat ... think sink clogged with food, then Water gradually draining through  When I do get (small) burps, it is a relief to be honest.

    why is it?

The "skinny people" are scared of any competition, so don't want you joining their league. They are hoping you will stop losing or ... even better ... pile it all back on. As for the junk food vs healthy stuff, let me know when you find out please. :rolleyes2:

    2nd Fill today

Now have 5.75mls in a 10ml APS band. Let's hope this reduces the amount I have been able to eat. I've got stuck (and vomited) about 6 times so far. Four of those times were when I was stressed, so I know to be aware of that now. Only lost 2 more pounds since my first fill 5 weeks ago. I know why too, so all that grazing shit has got to stop and I must get back to proper meals only. :rolleyes2:

    scared to eat now

I am still "recovering" from a bad incident with Peanut Butter. It stayed stuck for a few hours, even after throwing up, some seemed to be left in the stoma. Following that incident (day before yesterday) I coudn't eat a thing all the rest of that day. Yesterday I was still a bit sensitive and stuck to mushies. Today I haven't eaten yet, but I can feel slight irritation there. What annoys me is that, although I get stuck as described above, what I can eat doesn't satisfy for long and I can eat (I think) too much of.

I PB alot, but I am always hungry????

Fish pie = topped with mash, not pastry!

I PB alot, but I am always hungry????

Yesssss! This is the issue I have - either I can eat good sized portions .... or I get stuck. Yesterday I got stuck on crackers (something I don't usually have a problem with) and the rest of the day I was over-sensitive and had to stick to mushy food. However, tonight I have managed to eat a fish pie with broccoli - a good portion. I can't accept that I either have to put up with getting stuck ... or I can eat as much as I want of soft food. Surely there should be a balance where I can be satisfied and full - on food that doesn't get stuck?

    Could everyone feel your port?

Had it since surgery. Surgeon says it will go down when it is reabsorbed ... in time. As far as healing is concerned, I am actually a fast healer. My scars looked good very soon after surgery (I actually posted pics in the "Scar Stages" thread 7 days post-op ). I'm back for another fill next week so we'll discuss my lump then.

    Could everyone feel your port?

Unfortunately, not only can I feel my port, I can see it too  I have a haematoma above the port site which, 2 months on, still hasn't been absorbed. Check out my "lump":
