Ladies and Gents... what DO U LOVE???

I love dancing, get one of those work out videos from the bargain bin and get moving. Some of those videos are so cheesy but effective.

    Day 6: Back to work!

I was banded on a Thursday and went back to work on Monday. I felt a little sore from my incisions but nonetheless I made it a whole 9 hour day. I too sit at a desk in the AC and made it a point not to move too much. Try to keep drinking water and not think about eating. Its hard, but once you start dropping weight, you'll love it! I also had those surgi tape thingys on my incisions and I couldn't help but to scratch them. They will fall off on their own in the shower or as your rub lotion around them. One of mine lasted 4 weeks!! Good luck to you!!!

First Fill 04/02 will it hurt?

I just had my second fill and I have to agree---the doctor feeling for my pouch hurt more than the actual needle, but I have gotten the numbing shot both times too. Don't worry too much, it takes like 5 seconds. Good luck!
  7. I am am sorry that you've had such a negative experience. I am with True Results Aftercare. And I have been very pleased with their help and services. I was banded by Dr. Richard Benavides in Richardson, (Dallas) Tx. I think their prices are very reasonable for fills, but try googling True Results. Good luck to you.
  8. Once I got the go ahead to start on solids--I too ate preband. I've had one fill and am going for my 2nd fill on Thursday March 25th and I can't wait for more restriction. Right now i'm working on 'will power' to not eat as much as I think I should be able to eat. However you need to remember that its about healing in the first 6 weeks. I also work out 5 times a week and am slowly but surely dropping the pounds. I am down 34 pounds since Jan 22nd. Keep us the great work---30 pounds is awesome!
  9. I've read on here about people using a bit of pineapple Juice and swishing it around---something about the enzymes in the pineapple, also I've heard of people keeping papaya tablets handy. I've been stuck only a couple of times, one time I was eating a bit of chinese fried rice and apparantly I didn't chew the egg thoroughly and it literally came back up in seconds. My doctor says that when you get food stuck if you drink water, it is just going to stay there b/c the food is blocking your esophoguas and no water will be able to get down either. Try walking and putting your arms over your head and kind of stretching. Good luck!

    The prez on Leno

I thought it made Obama more personable. I really enjoyed his interview. As far as the special Olympic comment, although it wasn't very tasteful he apologized for it----we're all human. I'm sure we've all said stuff just as bad but we're not publicly scrutinized.
  11. I am so sorry that you are feeling so bad. I have never experienced any type of surgery, child birth, gall bladder etc. so when I had my procedure the first 3 days were the worst. I had all the pain in my shoulder. Have you tried taking some gas medicine like infant gas drops or Gas X strips?? They semi helped me. If you did go to the ER I hope they were able to help you. Hopefully you can get something for the pain.
  12. I'm glad to see i'm not the only one that has experienced bandster hell. Right now i'm finishing up the end of my mushies stage and I feel like I can eat like I did before surgery. Its very frustrating but i'm trying my hardest to stick to my portion size (ounces) per meal and drinking as much water as I can. Good luck to you! God willing once we get our first fills, we will have just enough restriction. Good luck to you!

    January '09 banders

Hello All! I was banded on January 22nd by Dr. Richard Benavides in Richardson, Tx. Today I am 11 days post op and am feeling pretty good. I was in at 7am and in the car going home at 11:30 so it was super fast. The first 3 days were pretty painful---gas, incision pain all of it I had it. I was praying that I would feel no pain but come on now I had surgery---my husband had to keep reminding me of it. My discharge instructions were to walk every hour and to breath into a 'spirometor'? every hour for three days . It hurt really bad to breath into it but doctors orders. I wanted to lay in bed all day but I knew that I had to walk eventhough it was painful. I bought Gas-X thin strips and Phazyme and they kinda worked- but I think walking is the best medicine. I had surgery on a Thursday morning and went back to work on Monday. I felt gas pain on my left shoulder throughtout the day so that was uncomfortabl but alas I got through it. My diet was liquids for the first 10 days, my protein shakes 3 times a day and then applesauce, fat free pudding, baby food, then mushies for days 11-28, and then slowly incorporate solid foods. Here is my weightloss: Pre-op diet 289 Surgery Date 272 Current weight: 256 Today I started eating mushies and I had a very mushed up pot pie and my diet choices include: mashed potatoes, creamy soups, soups with noodles, oatmeal, cottage cheese, soft canned fruit, cream of wheat, thinned scrambled eggs, sweet potatoes/yams etc. My doctor says I need to drink at least 8 cups of water a day and i'm suprisingly not having trouble with it at all. My first fill is scheduled for February 26th. I have a 14 cc band so i'm not quite sure how much they will fill but I'm very excited to start this journey. The best feeling is that people have already commented on my weightloss which makes me feel so great! I've never lost weight that people have noticed. I hope that they rest of the January banders have much success in 2009----its our time to shine. Best of luck to you all! :w00t:
