  1. You look great...you keep saying slow...I think I am having the same issue. How much did you lose so far and how long did it take you to get here? Where did you come from (I mean, what weight did you start at?)....I started at 289 and am at 233 a whole 58 weeks later...I feel like it's taking forever.
  2. How'd you do it so fast? I must be doing something wrong!! You look absolutely WONDERFUL...You should be so proud. I had my surgery 58 weeks ago -- was 289 and am only down 55lbs today...233. Please share all and any information you can---You are GREAT!!!

    You look absolutely stunning. How much did you weigh before surgery? How long has it been since your surgery? How much have you lost to date? I am looking for some sort of help --- I've had my surgery about 58 weeks ago and I've only lost 55lbs. from 289 to 233...I don't feel any restriction and at times am very depressed because the Dr. says that I am losing at a very slow rate. I work out for an hour 3 times a week...but I haven't found a protein drink that I can stomach...and must admit I have slacked off on the water drinking...never liked drinking water...have to be extremely thirsty for that. Any words?

    Sorry...been a long time since I've been on here. I have lost only 55lbs since surgery. I was 289 before surgery and am at 233 now. I am sort of disappointed because the Dr. tells me that, that is a little slow...but I also have to admit I haven't been following all the rules either. I just cannot find a protein that appeals to my taste buds....they all make me nauseaous (sorry for the misspelling). So, how are you now? Did you meet your goal yet? Do you have a lot of lose skin or any advise on how to keep it tight? Any advise on anything? I need all the help I can get. Not sure how to move this along. I work out at the Gym 3 times a week for an hour ... but I don't do protein drinks and don't drink much water.

    5 Protein Shakers/Smoothies

    Hi, I was banded 58 weeks ago and have only lost 55lbs. I am dissapointed because I expected to have lost at least 85-90 lbs by now. I weighed 289 to start and am now down to 233...but my goal is 145. The protein shakes has been the worst for me. I have not found anything that I can keep down...they all make me nauceous. These recipes you have sound pretty good. I am going to try these...Thanks for posting them. I will get back to you and let you know if you have saved me from the protein demon :0)

    You look GREAT. Do you mind me asking how much you weighed before surgery and how much you've lost sine and how long it's been? LOL Only answer the ones you're comfortable with. I was just banded on April 20, 2009 and I have a goal of 125lbs...to lose

    LOL...Oh please--don't be offended by my question. I weigh 280 lbs and am 5ft.2in. tall...and am still praying for approval. My surgeon has scheduled my surgery for 4/20/09, but I'm still not approved yet. I am very happy to hear that you have had the procedure and was just concerned as to if there was some technical issue that caused your slow rate of loss. I expect a lot from this surgery and have so many fears about it at the same time. I just wanted to know if there is something that you were doing that I may end up doing...LOL....that's all.

    Hi--I'm sorry I am not sure who this is but I think it's Babbs. Is there a reason why you were banded 6 months ago and have only lost so little weight? What would you say is the most difficult part? Also, does anyone know of what the best way to prevent having to have additional surgery to remove excess skin is--or does anyone know someone who's had the lap band and had to have excess skin removed?
  18. I am 32 yrs. old. I have a wonderful husband and two wonderful kids (BOY AND GIRL) and a wonderful Step-son (TEEN). I am from Newark, NJ. I am going with Montclair Surgical Associates (Dr. Fresco). I have been cleared by the Psychologist, Cardiologist, Gastroenterologist and Pulmonologist...I have 3 more Nutritional visits to go to and I need my PCP to write the Letter Of Medical Necessity with 5 yr. Weight History. Problem is that my PCPs office has never written one of these letters and I've only been seeing them for 1 yr. I am not a Dr. seeing person and never had a PCP before. Does anyone have a Sample that I may be able to provide my PCPs office with...for them to dummy my letter from. And, do you think it will be an issue that I don't really have much medical history to present? Please reply -- :tongue2:

    I need HELP...Please!

    Oh, let me just say...I am 5ft 2in. tall and weigh 280lbs. My goal is 150lbs. I can't imagine why I wouldn't get approved---I mean, I work for my insurance carrier...that would really suck if they deny me. I've tried so many things and the only success I had was at 19 yrs.old when I became anorexic for a yr. I was at 200lbs. and lost 50lbs in 4months. Just eating pickles and ice-pops...and on the stationary bike for 2 hours every day. Then I met my now husband and father of my two children who was not having that. So here I am almost 300lbs. and two kids later praying for the opportunity to do it right this time.
