hey there chris and everyone my partner and myself have 3 boys (men LOL) and 3 grandgirls. 1 dog and 4 catswe live in western mass. I had my band done in boston at BI ( my son's wife works there) I had breast cancer 4 years ago and still getting some treatments from dr. higby ( baystate he is the best). he approved the lapband. I think the best part is if the BI needs blood, the oncology gals will pull it from my port and send the report. I work rotating 12 hour shifts, which is one of the reason i am where i am at i can't seem to structure my life. but iam learning and with the help of the band, my goal is to get healthy and to make the most of my time off from work to enjoy life. (snokle in aruba) although the people from BI are a great sorce of info, this site is the best i have gotten so much here. one of my favorite sayings is "we are all in the same boat, just different seats"

thanks everyone, he went away a boy and now he is a man. I saw ken in the morning and the he came home 11pm. he was with his fire fighter budies on only 2 hrs of sleep.i am sure he will have ants in his pants for a few weeks, trying to catch up. i spung my partner yesterday from the hospital, her room mate was another palmer gal so we where able to make a new friends. chris..sorry to hear about your second mom, i am sure you can be a strong caregiver http://www.acscsn.org/ this is a site that is for surviors and caregivers, there are many other sites but i found just sitting in the chat room for some reason made me feel not alone. i don't chat just sit and read. sherry i would love for us to get together some day, maybe next time i come up that way for a over nighter. I am going back to work monday night and i work rotating 12 hr shifts (weekends too), so it makes it hard for me to even get it together with the oldest boy's family in canton, but we should and will someday. nanaviv.....make sure you tell them how far you are coming from so they will lump most of the appts. in the same day. they are a good bunch at the hospital. the phych (rona)is weird but its just one of the steps to get aproved, she likes talking so just let her LOL dezadoo..don't you just love the mushies LOL

this is not about the lap band but want to share our son KEN (the baby) was to come home the begining of aug from the service for good, it kept on changing and dragging out for some reason. last i knew it would not be till the end of the month of sept. maybe. ok so know this thurs my partner calls and says she is going to the emergency room not going to bother trying to get dr. appt for pain in the back. hour later she calls and says she is being amitted, of course i go down there (5 mins away). we were to go to new hamp. for the weekend at a friends camp. I cancelled that. so i am back and forth taking care of pets and hospital. i get a FEMA thing in the mail (kens he is a firefighter) so i call his friend john and tell him it came and i will tape it to the door so he can come and pick it up and take it to the fire dept (i guess they can get money from the gov, not sure) i also tell him i am going back and forth to the hosp. Last night (fri. night) i am at the hospital. by the way they are treating my partner for divaticuliist (sp?) hooked up to iv pole. its starts getting busy with visits from friends from work (we both work at the same place) In comes ken's friends john and roger, we talk for a bit and john says i got a surpize for you, your realy going to like it, starts to leave the room. of course just joking i said something like you got kenny . and he walks in with KEN , we both started crying and hugging it was a scene. he's home with all his fingers and toes. ken flew in from Germany to hartford and his friend roger went to pick him up. we believe the middle mutt sean LOL (on the a supply ship some where in the east) will be home for thanksgiving. it will be the first time in years will we have all home. well i wanted to share hope you didn't mind going to cook up egg whites and go up to the hosp. maybe i can spring my partner today hope you have a great weekend

it would take longer but maybe less stressful staying on 128 north and get off route 9 east i think its exit 20 not sure pull it up on map Quest sorry so short but things are busy here

ps i am very very very anti organized religon ( some of the reason this world is messed up i believe) but i try never to put down someones faith as they keep to themselfs i do not have the answers and do not care to have others tell me what i should think and feel

the bedside of my mom she did not believe in god and stayed that way right up until the end and she was not all that brave about dying (cancer). she lived her life as a very good and giving person, better than some christians i have known i miss her

just wanted to pop in to say hi all is well and on to mushie stage (4 weks out) so glad i have more to choose from........food hoo hoo i did find a great ready made drink at trader joe i also bought it on line from the vitiam shop worldwide pure protien shake.....comes in can...35 grams of protien comes in diff. flavors.........very hummy

Back from Boston. Now on stage 4. I did see Dr, R. and he looks good in uniform. I remember him in the hospital but they had given me drugs by then. I am so glad i decided to go to Boston for the band it is worth the ride from Palmer. next appt is oct 4th It was also great to be with the grandgirls, the oldest (14yrs)was busy with soccer so i drove her to her practice. the middle (6yrs)one can't seem to stay out of trouble too much energy. the baby (3yrs) is just too cute for words. I realy must try and spend more time with them. Today i will go to the GE doctor to get released for work next week. I will miss going to bed at the same time and waking up at the same time. I started smoking again (darn) so i'll need to work on that along with 30 mins of exercise. I'll have to fit it in my 12hr rotating work shifts. the big new is a loss of 20 pounds and i can fell the difference. The way i get to the hospital is only 4 turns masspike...128 south...then route 9 east ...turn on left on brookline ave (i watch for gas station turn before it)... turn right at longwood ave and hospital and parking is on your left I am glad also I found you gals on this site and we are all at different stages.... sherry it would be nice if my partner could lose also like your hubby. we have not been able to do the appts together. Maybe now that i am on a new stage, we can start eating the same things together. going to make some eggs.........you all have a nice day

Hello folk My appetite has picked up a great deal. I find I am hungry a lot. Tomorrow will be 4 wks and my appt. is for Thur. I will be getting the rest of food for next step. I am starting to get worried that I will not be satisfied with small amounts of food. Anyone else felt hungry before they started to fill thur the port.

nanaviv, i would at least make a first appt and see Dr., i would expect they would be able to give you an idear if you can deezadoo.had scambled eggs w/ketchup..soooooooooooooooo good

gee............not sure what caused this but i figure, if something pisses you off................get it out............i hope it helped i stay away from people want to run my life or thoughts i really think some people should turn around and take care of their own i just want to be healthy again........and i can only help myself

hi folks i brlieve i am doing good, so last night i e mailed Kelly the nutritionist, to see if i can do to next food step. its been 3 weeks and my next appt is the 30th. i really would love some srcambled eggs

the meetings i believe are in the Carl Shapiro building (east campus) ground floor level last time i was there the room was full so you might want to get there early to get a seat you'll get alot of input

ok folks I have a confession. one of the nurses you met at the office is named michelle, i am related to, also why i am going from palmer to boston. I told her i tought the phych (rona) was weird. But then again i have not met too many that wasn't LOL I was late also due to traffic on the mass pike, she gave me some grief, i just srugged it off. It was only one of the hoops needed to jump thru to get where i want to be. Best to everyone for a happier and heatheir life

dezadoo...that dr. is that the one that was in the army, but learning from dr jones how to lap band. met in as i was going under. I think its a hoot that the military is going to or doing the lap band for the military. I would of thought they would of been the first for this stuff and ahead of all the hospitals. shows us that we made a good chooce in beth I. when they send there doctors to learn there.

congrats chrispygal (auntie is cool) congrats dezadoo 21 pounds thats so cool..........you go well i guess i am not going back to work as planned due to my job and dr appts. i have to also have to be seen by my companys dr. which is not breaking me up really wasn't looking forward to 12 hr shifts. i tried to up my appt to next week (due to no work), but was told they are booked, i will be seeing a fellow (told dr jones on vac.)the week following. I am going to try and hook up with the grandgirls before school starts. today these kids are so busy with scoccer and stuff, its like you havee to make an appt. LOL

Pain in left side had a rough couple of days, turned out i believe to be gas trapped. Can't wait till i go to the next stage of mushy food. I am scheduled to work day shift the 18th (12 hour). Been sleeping alot for the last 2 weeks, should be interesting.
