[font='comic sans ms']I had lap-band surgery 1-11-2009. I had some initial success with this, meaning I had lost 56 pounds after 6 months and several adjustments to teh band. After my 6 month anniversary, I developed severe reflux. After mony more adjustments it was determined that the only way for me to be comfortable was to have all of the fulid removed from my lap-band and to move forward from there. With my portion control tools that I had learned, hopefully I could mantain and possibly continue to loose weight. That did not happen. I gained 1-2 pounds per month not matter how much time I spent in the gym and trying to maintain eating smaller portions.

In May of 2013 I started to have some abdominal discomfort. I resorted back to a liquid diet in an attempt settle my stomach. After 3 days of this I was convinced that my gall bladder had gone bad and went to the ER. Several tests were used to diagnose that my stomach had come up through my band and the only way to coeect this was to remove the lap-band. So off to surgery I went.

During my follow-up visits with my new surgeon, she mentioned the possibilty of having another surgery, something I had not considered. 6 months of visits with her and slowly watching my weight creap back up some more, I decided that I should have the sleeve surgery.

Today I am 6 days post-op from having the sleeve. Still a bit uncomfortable and still on a liquid diet. The last meal I chewed was on 12-8-13. I'm looking forward to getting on the scale and seeing the weight below what it was the morning of surgery.[/font]
