This is a stupid question, but is it possible to get a fill, but actually not hit your port? I have a 10cc band, got my first fill 3 weeks = 1 day after surgery. Dr. tried 2 X on the third poke, he said he got it, that my port had tilted a bit. My husband was in the room and asked how the dr was sure that he got the port this time, and the dr said he puts a bit of Fluid in, and then if he can pull it back out, he has the right spot! Is that true? So anyways, my fill was 4cc's. It has been 8 days since my fill, and I feel no restriction! As well as, when I lay down and feel around to see where I can feel my port, it's a good inch away from where the dr had inserted the needle. Theneedle was actuall put in about 2mm away, and in the middle of my biggest incision. Does any of this make sense? I know he is the dr and should know what he is doing...but is it possible to miss the port? Oh,and the last thing is, I was under the understanding that I would be filled with saline, but when it came down to it, the dr said no, he uses some sort of distilled water! Is that ok? I am trying to get in to see my dr this week, so he can answer all my questions, but I want to try and put my mind at ease before then!! Thanks for any advise!!

Bobbie- I had my frist fill August 1st (3weeks + 1 day after surgery) I have a 10cc. Swiss band, and my first fill was 4cc's. I know it sounds alot, by I find that I can still eat too much! I do feel fuller much longer however, and I have to eat and drink slower, or else I burp alot! My next fill is scheduled for 4 weeks after my first. (dr says we have to only go 1cc at a time now) not sure if that is normal or not.... I am happy, but can't wait for my next fill so that I get better restriction! Just thought I would share my experience! XX abcangirl

:crying: Hi, very new to this. Have been reading up on Lap-Band for about a year or so now. Have had pre-opt testing, and and am scheduled for surgery in beginning of July/09. I am extremely nervious. Always considered surgery the last resort. Now after yo-yo dieting for years, it's come to that....but what if it doesn't work? Just like all the "fad" diets? I'm not looking to get super-model skinny, just healthy, and fit! Am I just trying to talk myself out of surgery because I am affraid of failing again? Please if anyone has gone thru this, pls let me know how you got past it! I am now doubting myself, thinking this won't work, and why am I throwing my money away! Soooooo confused.....

Dear Losinit; One of my problems is that there is no supposrt group where I am! We are a Canadian family, living in Thailand. My surgery will be done here, but there is no 'english' support services.... Thanks for the bout of confidence tho, glad to know others have second thoughts!:crying:
