Thanks for the laughs people!!! I too am dealing with saggy parts and quite frankly never really paid attention to Antartica cause I couldn't see it....but now I do and it too will need some TLC! I will keep heaving the girls into a bra until I have lost all the weight I need to, but the good thing about it is that my hubby is extremely supportive to finance the reconstructive surgeries in the end!

Hey there, I know what you mean....its quite the treck to make for a 5 minute appointment. I know that there was a Dr. at a sleep clinic who indicated that he himself was going to get banded and told me he would be doing his own fills if possible. I'm not sure if he did yet but can try to find out if he would be willing to do that for other bandsters.

Hey there, I went 6 months gaining and losing 5 lbs and it was a horrible feeling so I decided to make some slight changes and have lost 15 lbs in a month. First of all I did some groceries and brought them to work so that I would stop eating out. I have calorie wise and sugar free puddings, Jello, popcorn and Soups at my disposal. Also started eating sesame seeds and only drink Water or skim milk. That ususally gets me through the day. My Dr. said sugar is bad and diet sodas are off limits as they make you crave the sugar. Then, I made a weekly menu portions from Canada food Guide) for the entire family and prepare my meals on Sundays so everyone knows whats on the menu in advance. I don't eat at all after 8 pm (gives me hearburn anyways) and did I say I drink a lot of water!? And last but not least, I sought support from fellow bandsters to help keep the momentum! Walking the dog has helped as well...he keeps me motivated too! Good Luck!

I used Dr. Lancelot Tin, Chief of Surgery Credit Valley Hospital in Toronto. He is on-line also affiliated with Toronto Cosmetic Clinic I think.

Can someone tell me about Max-Out-Of-Pocket?
Mojo08 replied to FatButNotHappy's topic in Insurance & Financing
Hey there, You are lucky to have an insurance plan to cover the cost! I paid $15 000.00 out of pocket and have to travel 4 hours for fills and follow up at my expense...worth every penny though! Good luck! -
Anyone else dealing with other people comments

Hey there, Don't feel bad. I didn't lose anything for 6 months but recently lost 15 lbs again. I didn't tell anyone about my surgery for fear of people pressuring me. In terms of dealing with people who say stupid things well...I'm sure you can come up with some equally rude come backs! As for the hubby...well maybe he needs a reality check! -
Hey there, I was banded in June 2007 and have since lost 65 lbs. My weight loss was stagnant for aproximately 6 months but I recently got back on track and lost another 10 lbs. and am feeling great about myself again. I had my surgery at Credit Valley hospital in Toronto and my only regret was that I didn't access outside support from fellow bandsters before now. I didn't tell anyone about my surgery for fear of having judgements made and having to explain myself to people. This was a very personal decision and wanted to keep my weight loss issues to myself. I think that it was the best decision for me but am very happy to be able to communicate with people who share the same concerns and issues. Its just one of those things that you actually have to live through to understand. I'm looking for some motivation from fellow bandsters to keep losing those pounds! I hope to lose another 20 lbs before next June my year two anniversary!

Heartburn at 1 year anniversary
Mojo08 replied to jlw190's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Hey there, I am 18 months in and have recently experienced heartburn especially if I eat after 8 pm and sometimes when I drink Water of all things! Tums are my best friend and I try to stay away from spicy food especially before bed time! -
I don't remember....but the total was $15 000.00, a protion goes for the downpayment, then to the hospital and finally to the surgeon.

Hey there, There is nothing to it! I'm in and out in no time and it doesn't hurt..just a little prick and thats it...no sweat! Not worth getting nervous about Good luck!

Hey there, I haven't seen the proceedure done for less than 15 Grand. My surgery was done in TO by the Chief of Surgery. The fills afterwards and checkups are free for life.
