  1. they only gave you a four cc band? how come?

  2. I got 3.3 on my first fill and after that you should expect to get, on average, one cc at the most for each fill.
  3. If you want more weight loss you would chose to have the bypass. Lap band isn't entirely effective for large weight loss (over a 100 pounds)
  4. they are the same thing as far as i can tell. i have the realize and the only difference is a bigger port and it can hold more saline..

    Mushies ideas?

Today is my first day on mushies and i'm having a hard time coming up with mushies ideas. For my liquid stage I was allowed to have creamy soups and smoothies. I already know about oatmeal, but what else can I eat?

Why did my feet get smaller?

Your feet get smaller in part because there is less weight on them spreading them apart, and also your losing fat down there. Be thankful! Oh, I look forward to the day when I don't have to scavenge to find size 12 shoes!

    What is the difference ??

My surgeon told me they were same thing except that the Realize band allowed you to get more fills if you needed to. I chose the realize band, but have yet to get a fill so i am not exactly an expert on the subject.

    Scars

It's pretty much standard procedure to 5 incisions..there is one for the camera, one for the port (the biggest one), one that they slip the band through, one for the tubing and one for the other instruments that they need. However, I totally know how you feel. I scar really easily so I kinda freaked when I found out there were going to be five scars on my abdomen practically advertising my surgery. but i'm almost two weeks post op and they don't look too bad. good luck with your banding!

    Hi!

Hey guys! My name is Kristin Seely. I live in western washington and i'm 18 years old. I'm scheduled to have my surgery on January 14th. I have Dr.Lauter, does anyone know him? It would be an understatement to say that i'm a little nervous. I'm not too worried about the actual surgery, I just REALLY want this to work. I'm so tired of being overweight and not fitting in at my high school. I'm also a little unsure about the recovery after the surgery. I'm going to have to go back to P.E the week after my surgery and i'm hoping i'll be able to participate? How long did it take for you guys to recover and be able to walk around? I am really glad I found this site. I looked around it for awhile and found a lot of helpful information. Random question..did you guys have any trouble telling people about the surgery? I know my teacher is going to ask (when i miss a few days), and I don't know whether to tell him about it or not. Have a good day!

hi im new don't really know what to expect!

How were you able to lose so much weight? I heard lap band isn't that effective for large amounts of weight loss which has me a little concerned.
