    2 days post-op and hungry?

Dawn, I'm 10 days post and I am on smooth foods , yogurt, puddings etc., I am also allowed mashed potatoes, . It helps me not to drink before I eat and absolutley no drinking for one hour post. I had my first mashed potato 1/2 c. last night I ate it very slowly and It worked like a charm i wasn;t hungry and the KNAWING in my stomach finally left ,I felt satisfied for the whole night. I think not drinking right before and not for anhour after is the key (at least it helps me) Good Luck!

    Surgeon Consult

shelly, Basically, they will weigh you measure your ht. calculate bmi listen to heart and lungs, look at your abdomen. My surgical office then gave me a packet of Info which tells you what they require you to do before surgery. Also every insurance company has different requirements regarding the approval process. My advice start with your insurer find out all of their pre req. so you will be well informed what steps you need to take and document. ie, nutritional counseling, psychology appt.It sounds complicated but just make a list and start checking things off. Good Luck!

  4. Hi, Thanks for advice, I had to eat about three reaspoons of yogurt and that helped the nausea, feeling better and am sipping on the protien drink . Have you tried the isopure? I'm thinking about trying it as it would be different from the milk based drink. Maggie
  5. Thanks, I'm not allowed yogurt till week 2 so now it's the protien drinks jello and popsicles I'll try to do more milk but hard to do when you feel nausious. I appreciate your reply!

I am however going to limit my carb intake and calorie intake to get myself better ready for surgery. I think i added you to my friends list I'm not sure how everything works with site . Good Luck !

    HELP WITH INS, comorbid

Hi, My advice to you would be to contact your insurance company and ask the specific guidlines that they follow to approve this procedure.(*lap band) That should clarify any questions. If not ask to speak to a superviser who specializes in this area of insurance approval for clients.

MEG, I took which ever Dr. Had the first appointment. As they both came highly reccommended . The six months for me was weight watchers I had to participate in a weight loss program for six months to meet an insurance requirement. Also had to meet with psychologist and nutritionist. Good Luck with program all the prerequiste requirements should help in the success of the surgery.
