April 2006 Bandits September Challenge

I'm here, and I bought a new pair of sneakers for the occasion! -
Oh no! There's not ONE, not TWO, but THREE THREADS for the September challenge! Can you delete two of them, Ceparano?

Me too!!! Me too!!! The lazy days of summer are officially over. Beginning after Labor Day weekend, that is.

By "fully healed" do you mean healed enough to return to work, which is usually just a few days, certainly not more than a week. Or do you mean healed inside so that you're no longer doing a liquid or mushies diet?

Excellent news, Lokiluvr. Good to hear that you're on the road to Lapland. Believe me, Dr. Haag is very easygoing, and you need not be concerned about him "not liking you." Your meeting with him is primarily a medical appointment to determine if you are physically a candidate for the surgery. In-depth questions about your motivation, your resolve, etc., come later, in the meetings with the psychologist and the nutritionist. Also, if you don't feel comfortable telling Dr. Haag where you work, then don't. In fact I doubt it will come up in conversation.

VelvetKiss: I note that you have lost 56 lbs in a single month. However did you manage to do that? It seems almost impossible! -

Hang in there, kimmason! All of us have been plagued with bouts of hunger, sometimes giving in, sometimes not. Please don't beat yourself up over a stumble along the way. It happens to all of us. Know that the band WILL HELP YOU with all of this, and things will definitely get better. You do not yet have restriction, so the band has not yet started to work for you. Be patient. You can do this. For now, try to remember that it's not necessarily hunger that drives us but often our EATING obsession. Use this as an opportunity to fight that demon. -

I'm a former "no breakfast" person. Now my favorite Breakfast is a high-Fiber Cereal with milk, yogurt and fruit: 1/2 cup All-Bran Xtra Fiber (one serving has 13g dietary fiber) 1/2 cup low-fat milk 1/2 cup nonfat plain yogurt 1/2 cup fresh fruit (berries are my favorite; occasionally a banana) 235 calories, 18 g Protein

Cuz I asked him. Put it on your list of things to ask Dr. Haag at your first fill.
-
Very exciting, Jim. Dr. Haag performed my surgery also. Their office is well organized, and you'll do really well.

Blewisfla: I'm flabbergasted that you would receive this response. Don't believe it! (And keep looking for a another doctor.) I have the same health insurance as you, I had a higher BMI, and I'm older than you. I'm thrilled with the band: I've lost 55 lbs. in 3.5 months. Go for it! -
Many, if not most, people do NOT stay overnight.

Your weight loss is absolutely astonishing, LapBandit. What an inspiration you are! Kudos on arriving back in Twoterville!
