I'm going for my first fill on Wed...

Yeah, I'm curious, too. I live in Northern Alberta. (about 5 hours from Edmonton) and I was told that Calgary was where I would have to go for fills. Cow-town is about 8 hrs away. I know there are at least 3 Dr.s in Edmonton, but my Dr did not give me any Edmonton options. Boo-urns!

    PS before getting to goal?

When I asked this question to my (future) plastic surgeon, I was told that I need to be at or very near my goal weight. (within 10lbs I believe was the number) So I guess it really varies surgeon to surgeon...

    Which side is your port?

My large incision is right in the middle of my belly, just above the belly button. Am I correct to assume that this is my port site? I wonder what made him change the placement...*shrug* crazy doctors...

    Which side is your port?

I have no idea where my port is... Doc told me it would be just below the bra line, slightly on the left... but he also explained that the incision ends up being a little larger than the others so as to anchor it REALLY securely. But the incision there is just a tiny poke mark...and I can't feel it. *shrug* I guess I'll find it eventually.

Now that we've gotten rid of Yoda....

Hi Cloe! Well, After yet another glycerine suppository I had one glorious day without constipation. YAY!!! ...but that is gone now:mad: as I had the golfball feeling for an hour or so last night...and today I have explosive diarhea. (TMI, I know LOL) I'm not complaining though...at this point I am just kinda sadistically amused by how sick I am. I know it will pass...and BOY will I ever appreciate it then!!! I can't wait. And Thanks for the info Leila!

Now that we've gotten rid of Yoda....

Leila, Where do you get those? They sound like exactly what I need right now! As a result of my pre-op testing, my Dr. discovered I am very low on B12...and I was wondering how the heck I am supposed to eat a crushed B12 tablet :phanvan BLECH! ...this would be great to find these magic "strips" you speak of... *wringing hands and smacking her lips* Do tell Girlfirend! Do tell!!!!

Now that we've gotten rid of Yoda....

An unfortunate bout of constipation is preventing the post surgery gas from going anywhere...:phanvan Everything inside hurts. I feel like my organs are bouncing around loose inside. lol It comes in waves though...I try to walk as much as possible when it isn't too painful. So far nearly every thing I've had to drink causes more pain...and yet if I get too hungry the "growlies" seem to compound the gas issues.:faint: Moving around hurts...and lying still makes me sore. SHEESH! I can't win for losing. lol I've lost more weight this week than I would've liked too, just because I've skipped eating (7lbs in 5 days) I'm just gonna sit tight and work on healing one day at a time... it can only get better right!? Just gotta keep keepin' on... Sunshine

    Fun Thread - Screen Names

My name is fairly self explanatory...I live in canada, and my real name is Sunshine. WHY my name is Sunshine is NOT quite as simple...lol You see, I was named after a retarded eskimo. Oops *erm*...I mean a "mentally handicapped Inuit person." My father is American and back in the early 70's he worked dfor the Merchant Marines. He was stationed off the coast of Alaska, back when there wasn't alot of contact between the Inuit and the rest of the world. On one occasion my father and a buddy of his ventured into the Inuit village and at some point met an elder who was accompanied by a little handicapped girl. The girl was sort of oblivious to everything around her but was friendly with my father and told him her name...("Melody-Sunshine")...He thought that was really sweet but wondered why it was "Melody-Sunshine" in English. The elder explained to him, in her own broken English, that her people were taking an unhappy path. (alcohol was quite a serious issue in this particular village) Their culture was suffering, (mostly as a result of the presence of white men like my father!:think ) ..and out of all her people this little girl would never lose her innocence, she would never see her people fall and would never lose her smile. My dad eventually told this story to my mother years and years later...and she stored in her memory until she had a baby girl. She named me Sunshine and my little sister Melody...in hopes perhaps that we would never lose our smiles. Now, I still wonder why it was in English...but my Dad said alot of what was said must've been lost in translation. lol:confused: For as long as I can remember when I have to state my name, I always have to answer the next question; which is always: "Is that your real name?"...and then:"Were your parents hippies?" I usually just say "yes" cuz it's much easier than the whole retarded eskimo bit. LOVE THIS THREAD!!! SORRY TO DRONE ON!!

    Think Positive List

This is such a great thread...I'm bumping it to see if we can get some more positive thoughts added... cuz I sure love to read them!!!
  21. When I lived in Washington, and went to high school, alot of kids were curious if I actually had a dog sled ect. I told them NO, that's stupid! We are a modern country with excellent technology and resources...we drive SNOWMOBILES to get to the cities and from there we FLY to civilization. So maybe it's a$$holes like me who perpetuate the steroetype.:heh: Sunshine
