Today marks 3 months since my revision surgery (4/30/15). -> I am down 46lbs. -> I hit the dreaded 3 week stall and it lasted two weeks. -> I now seem to be losing around 10 lbs a month. I can live with that. -> I do exercise and see a personal trainer twice a week. I am feeling so much stronger. -> My extreme lethargy went away around week 5 or 6. -> I do get hungry now, but only occasionally and it is amazing how a few cashews can make it go away. -> I do start my day with a Premier Protein shake to help boost my protein intake. I then eat every 3 to 4 hours, protein first then veggies if I can fit them. -> food does not taste the same. It is no longer exciting, which is a good thing. I can look at a menu and choose the healthy option, rather than what sounds yummy. -> I easily feel full and have no issue pushing my plate away. -> I don't care that I am wasting food. I was wasting it before too by stock piling it on my waist! -> I went on vacation for a week and came back 2lbs lighter! That has never happened before, even with the band. -> For me the sleeve is WAY better than the band. My only regret is that I did not get the sleeve sooner. I hope this helps people who are earlier in the process. I would love to hear from others who are around the same point in their journey.

That is a perfect description of hunger now!

I am down over 100lbs since before my band surgery. It is crazy to think about carrying that much weight around. I can't imagine how good it will feel to be at goal. Was the gall bladder surgery due to your weight loss?

There's An App For That.... But Where?
NewNewMe replied to glitterpockets's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
myfitnesspal does measure those. You can set the limits you want also. -
I am 10 weeks out and have been enjoying a handful of cherries as an evening snack. No issues.

Full with band vs full with sleeve.

You should be measuring your food. 1/4 cup. Don't go for full. -

Protein Shake Questions
NewNewMe replied to MOMMY2MGM's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
After my surgery I could not stomach the protein shakes. My saving grace was Genepro. It will mix in anything hot or cold. It has 30g protein. The serving scoop size is small. I would mix it with crystal light, or soup broths when on liquids and in creamy soups later. When I got to soft food I put it in mashed potatoes and cream of wheat. For some reason I do stomach shakes again now. But Genepro was fantastic during the post surgery weeks. -
How many calories are you eating?
NewNewMe replied to cuchas's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I am 9 weeks out. I am usually between 600 - 800. Shooting for 80g protein. I keep all fat and sugar to single digits when making food choices. Been trying to stay low carb. -
What does it feel like to have the sleeve v. band?
NewNewMe replied to buttercup06's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I tend to wonder if doing two surgeries is really about money. I don't see how putting a patient through two surgeries is safer. I am very glad mine was done in one. -
What does it feel like to have the sleeve v. band?
NewNewMe replied to buttercup06's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
To me you always knew there was a band. You would get that stuck feeling, reflux, slime, throw up, etc. You feel stuck but still hungry. With the sleeve you feel normal. I eat until I'm comfortably full. I have no issue stopping and I'm no longer hungry. I imagine this is how people feel that never had eating issues. I just wish I switched sooner. -
I don't know if mine is larger than someone who never had a band but I know it is WAYYY better for restriction than my band. You feel comfortably full with no interest to continue eating. No stuck, no throwing up, no slime. The biggest advantage to me is the lack of hunger.

Any Band to Sleeve Success Stories Out There?!?
NewNewMe replied to lisaluvsgreys's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I am only 2 months out so I would not say I'm a success story yet (I intend to be). But I can tell you the difference between the band and sleeve is like night and day. I lost 85lbs with the band and then started having reflux issues. I yo yo dieted for eight years before deciding on the sleeve. I wish I did it years ago! With the band you get a stuck feeling but are still hungry. With the sleeve I am very rarely hungry and when I eat I feel full not stuck. I have no interest to keep eating. I also find it so much easier to choose healthy foods. Food is not calling my name like it did with the band. It feels so good to have that thing out! It was also very scary to hear about the damage it was doing to my stomach. Doc said my stomach was close to closing off. And that was with no fluid in it. Good luck with your decision. -
How long did you take off after band to sleeve revision?
NewNewMe replied to swoman2's topic in Revision Weight Loss Surgery Forums (NEW!)
I took a week off. I could have went back after 3 days. But it was good to have the week to work on fluid and protein intake. -
Don't take NSAIDs! It may cause damage to your sleeve. Best thing I found is Goodys Liquid Headache Relief shot. It tastes yucky but is really amazing. My migraine is gone almost instantly.

Band to Sleeve GRIPE...feeling down and frustrated :(
NewNewMe replied to Just Lindsey's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
What is your diet like? Are you eating mainly protein and veggies? How many calories a day are you getting? Are you exercising? From what I've seen there is various degrees of success based on diet and exercise routines. You are not a failure! Just take a close look at your routine and make some changes to spark the weight loss. -
Weight gain during first week?
NewNewMe replied to margied804's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
That is normal. It will go down quickly over the next week or so. Make sure to get your fluids in. -
It happens to all of us! Usually stall for two weeks. Keep to your program the scale will start to move again!

Congratulations! Good luck on Tuesday!
