bellatrickz replied to Fluffy Jen's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Hi everyone .....IM IN FOR THE CHALLENGE. BANDED 04/21/09 LOST 55 LBS ... BUT BEEN BUSY LATELY NEED THIS CHALLENGE MY GOAL IS TO LOOSE 20LBS BY CHRISTMAS TOO. -
Boy oh boy, I understand what you mean. I choose to tell my co-workers. I've had crazy questions and comments. Somehave been positive, but others have been making me think what a shallow world we live in. I understand that it is curiosity however, some of the thinks leave me dumb founded. I started to take a new approach, when someone asks me how much have I lost? I'll say I'm not checking oftenbut it feels good when I here my cloth and they are starting to fall off. A co-worker then said, "Isnthis the reason you got the Lapband so you could see how much weight you have lost. I said "No, Lap band is to make me feel healthier and so far it is doing the job well". i also have another co-worker checking me up and down with her head and eyes. Mind you she is more overweight then I was befor Lap. All I can say Im proud to have lost 40lbs since April21,09 with no regrets. thank you for this tread

gas-x would e better than miralax...I was also banded on the 21. The biggest problem for me in my munchy stage is that I made artificial scramble eggs. It KILLLLLED MEEE. I was on my treadmill I walked atleast a half a mile and took a Gas-x. However, do follow your Dr. instructions because you are also having diarrhea, I hope you dont dehydrate.

Not a good idea. Cancel Sx, have a great time at disneyland and come back and get the lap band done.

bellatrickz replied to tcbgirl's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Tcbgirl, Im so sorry to hear you had a complication. I was also banded on the same day. I'm walking as much as I can tolerate. My biggest problem is the deep sore ness I have. But it is getting better. I hope thoughs nurses also have an order for stool softner take it and dont say no. This also helps to eliminate some of the gas. I wish you the best of luck, let me know if i can help with anything else. -

One Week Post-Surgery and I am STARVING!
bellatrickz replied to langx3's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
langx3, I just got banded on april 21, My doctor said he wants me to focus on healing for this month. He said its not about loosing weight untill my first fill. He also mentioned week one the pouch is new everything you put in must be done by sips or if you can sip it with a straw this is okay. He said week 2 I can have munchy stage. Week3 I will be getting more hungey bc the swelling has gone down.. He said at his time I can start protein bars to keep me more full longer. week 4 can introduce foods one at a time. But my caloric intake should not go above 1200 cals per day. Then I go and get my fill. I hope this helps you -
Banded 0n April 21, 2009
bellatrickz replied to bellatrickz's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Vicky, Today seems to be a little harder only because of the pain. However, my doctor said I can have anything that can go through a straw ect..protein shackes thin them out if needed. broths, Soups must be blenderized. All fluids are okay. But shakes goes first. My munchy stage start next tuesday. I can have cottage cheese, cream of wheat, mash potatoes, sweet potatoes, he even suggested baby food is okay. But because I am 2-postop I really dont have much of an appitite. I have been walking around since I got banded. Hopes this helps Thanks vicky for your response -
Hi everybody just got banded on the 21 of April. I was an outpatient. Came home 2hrs after surgery. I've been doing okay. Of course I have pain and soreness which is to be expected. I am not hungry but I try to keep dinking water and shakes with a 4oz limitation. Today I am more exhausted then yesterday. but this is the whole healing process i must go through.

Starting to panic...
bellatrickz replied to MissChristina's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
MissChristina, glad to hear every thing went well for you. I will have my surgery on April 21-Tuesday. I too am very afraid of anesthesia b/c I have never been under before. Even though I have some friend that are Anesthesiologist, you think that would help by talking with them, No Not me I am still scared out of my mind. Good luck on your new healthy life. -
