    First time trying papaya enzyme

I got these the other day too after I had the worst stick ever. I was stuck for 55 minutes before it went down and it was horrible. After that I went right to walmart and these pills are wonderful. They help me everytime i get stuck and I have them with me everywhere now.

Where are our kids learning this stuff?!?

So yesterday im out shopping with my 6 year old daughter. We are looking at clothes and I pick up a swimsuit top to look at. This is how the conversation went after that: Daughter "Mom, you dont need that. Its for S" Me "What's S?" Daughter "You know....S. The S word" Me "What S word? You can tell me." Daughter "Its for sex. You dont need that" I was shocked. I informed her it was a swimsuit and not lingerie (sp?). Im just wondering where she got that from. I dont think a 6 year old should know anything about sex. She was right though. I have no need for any lingerie. Sadly... What have your kids said that shocked you?

Where are our kids learning this stuff?!?

These are all too funny!! So its not only my daughter. lol My daughter is all about the boyfriend thing too. She is in kinder and she has has the same boyfriend the entire year. Well she came home so sad the other day because he broke up with her so he could make every girl in the class his girlfriend and then choose between them all and pick his favorite. These kids are to much!! I dont even think I knew anything about sex until I was 13. :tt1:
  5. I am the exact way. Nausea is the worst feeling in the world. I will do anything to keep myself from throwing up. I swear I should buy stock in Pepto Bismal. :tt2: Although I havent PB'd yet I have had some things get horribly stuck and had some major sliming, I have never felt nausea with it though. I feel very greatful for that since when im stuck there is no way any Pepto is getting through.

Hey Everyone, As time goes on im starting to eat more and more it seems like. Oh well, I knew it would take a few fills for me to get to the right restriction. Hopefully everything is going good for you all. So, im just wondering, how are you friends and family supporting you? I had alot of support for getting my band. My family was all for me getting the band and were great with helping me after surgery. I think they are still supporting me but there are a few things that they say that really bother me. I have recently hired a personal trainer and have found a great love for exercising. After working with my trainer a few times I decided to join the gym. When I told my dad he about had a fit. He said it was a waste of money and that im just throwing my money down the drain. I guess I would have thought he would be happy for me. I went ahead and joined anyway but I hate that he isnt supporting me like I expected. Another thing that has happened is today after I saw my trainer I was talking to one of my sisters. She told me my other sister said that I could have saved $10,000 (the cost of my surgery) if I had just hired a personal trainer in the first place. I thought that was very rude. Am I being too sensitive?

Hey Everyone!! Congrats on the fill Needtoseemeagain!! So its been almost a week since my fill and im really getting to know more about my band. I am learning which foods I can and cant eat and how much (my dad's meat lasagna got stuck 3 times before I gave up on eating it....no pb's yet though). I am eating more than the 3 oz, or whatever I should be, but I still think im doing great. I know it can take a few fills to get to where the doctor wants me to be. Overall so far this has been a huge learning experience for me and a huge motivator. I even hired a personal trainer and have been working out everyday for 5 days. Yay!! Well, continue being strong everyone and I look forward to hearing updates from all!!

Hey Sharon and everyone, I was eating close to regularly also before my fill. Actually all the weight ive lost since surgery was from my first week post-op when I was on liquids. I didnt lose anything the following 3 weeks. I have lost one pound since I got my fill so hopefully I will stay on that track.

    The "C" word: Constipation

He is a great guy. I couldnt be happier with having him as a doc. I actually had my first fill yesterday and he said the pain isnt constipation its probably just after effects from the surgery that will go away eventually.

Hey everyone, Well, I had my first fill today. It went great!!! I think that this will give me back some great restriction. Yay!! Since im cleared for all exercise I plan on getting a gym membership next week. Are any of you exercising yet?

    The "C" word: Constipation

So, I wonder what kind of pain you are having from constipation. I have been having a horrible aching pain in my lower right stomach. I went to my doctor the other day and she didnt know what it could be. She didnt think it was anything serious but maybe just after effects from surgery. I called the PA for my surgon and he said it could be constipation. Ive been doing miralax for 3 days now and im still having pain. I have had a couple of BM's but they were very small. Does this sound similar to what your having?

    How long before first fill?

I was just wondering how long everyone waited before their first fill. It seems like for most people it is 6 weeks. I was wondering if anyone had theirs after 4 weeks. I am getting on on 2/23 and had my surgery 1/23. Does that seem like to soon?

Hey everyone, It sounds like everyone is doing great!!! it sounds like some of you are moving onto things a bit quicker than me but I know everyone's dr's orders are different. I just started my soft food diet and am so happy to be off of liquids some now. I see my doc on the 23rd for my first fill so maybe he will clear me for some excercise by then. I would also love to take a bath but dont want to until I get the ok from him. It sounds like a few of you still have some restriction and some of you dont. I am eating more than I did right after surgery but not nearly as much as I used to which is great. Tonight me and my daughter had some tamales from a can and I ate one and a half and she ate 3. It was pretty funny that my 6 year old is eating twice what I am.

Not liking foods after eating them

Well I sure hope that what you guys are saying is going to happen for me. I absolutly love donuts and they are a huge weekness for me. I try to stay away from that area of the grocery store just so im not tempted to get one (to bad they are next to the fruits and veggies). I kinda hope that after I get a fill and start regular food that I will eat a donut and it will get stuck or make me PB. Who knows, maybe it wont be so bad....I havent had any problem giving up soda.

    Port Locations?

My port is about 5 inches above my belly button right in the middle and I cant feel it. Its about a 2 inch incision. I have 5 incisions total. Tullila....I was banded on the same day as you and I have lost 13 lbs since surgery and 22 total when counting my pre-op diet and I also cant tell any difference on my waist. Ive had friends and family tell me that it looks like im losing it in the upper part of my stomach and that my face looks skinnier. Thats all fine and dandy but i sure cant wait until my pants are a bit looser.
  20. I was banded one week before you and went throught the same thing. For the first 7 days I could only have about 3 oz of liquid at one time and I was full for hours afterwards. Now im able to have 4-6 oz at a time. Congrats on the 20 lbs!!!

Thanks for the info on the stretch. I did try that and it did help. It sure has been hard going back to sitting at a desk all day. Sharons, I know exactly how you feel about baked goods. Good for you for staying far away.

Hey Kd, Welcome and congrats on your surgery!! Im glad that your feeling better this week. I also went back to work today and it was harder than I expected. I have a desk job and my back was killing me. Im sure since ive been doing alot of laying down this last week. I also think I ate to much soup at lunch and had the worst chest tightness. I actually went home just a bit early. Thats cool that your doc gave you the ok for mushies. I cant start those until this Friday. I dont see my doc until the 23rd since I live a couple hours away from his office. Congrats on the 10 lbs!!!

    Any side sleepers???

Hey me too. Im able to sleep on my stomach also now. I can stay on my side or stomach for a few hours but I do have a little pain when I wake up but nothing major. I guess it took about 9 days for me to be able to sleep better.
