    Wondering

Hi my doctor said this occurs in the beginning because when they do this surgery they are messing around near the diaphram the nerves there are related to the nerves in your back so until you are completely healed you may have a flare up now and then this is also a sign of overeating but that doesn't sound like what your feeling good luck

    Band Erosions

sepsis always fatal???? are you sure?
  13. carol read your blog of 1/6/09 it makes me sad, I ended up with the band because my surgeon discovered some complications with my stomach that made it a bad idea for bypass I was very skeptical about the band and remain so but I am learning to listen to it its just a lot of work that I didn't expect but I imagine I had unrealistic expectations about the bypass as well. It sounds like maybe you should speak to someone that can help you explore the issues that make you eat I have several triggers that I wasn't aware of prior to my surgery, also sometimes there are conditions that just impede the band and you may want to consider looking into further surgery like duodenal switch or bypass my insurance requires me to try this for 3 yrs and if it doesn't work I'll be right back on that o.r. table. It may sound crazy but I will lose this weight come h--- or high water. to date I am a little over 8 weeks post op and have lost only 34 pounds.

    Carlas journey

So I was banded Nov 3, 08. The first four weeks after surgery were not so bad I guess I had a lot of inflammtion due to also having a huge hiatal hernia repaired with mesh. After that though I thought I would starve to death. I had a four cc fill six weeks after surgery and I still feel like I'm eating more than I should be able to. I have only been sick once and that was new yrs eve after eating a shrimp and scallops both pretty dry. To date my weight loss is 31 pounds,an average day for me is breakfast- egg beater 1/4 cup, sometimes on the weekend I'll also have 1/4 to 1/2 cup fried potatoes, lunch-2-3oz chicken with 1/2 cup cottage cheese or a small salad, dinner- 2-4 oz meat, chicken or fish. veggies 1/2 cup 2 tbs to 1/2 cup potates or pasta. If I have a snack it is usually low cal popcorn occas. one hershys kiss, or 1/2 cup oatmeal or a protein drink. Anyone who has more experience with this Please tell me am I overeating not losing as much as I should be I'm terrified I will fail at this like every other time I"ve dieted.

    Hungry or Full?

Hi I was banded on nov 3 2008 I have lost only 34 lbs and I too have problems determining when to stop I try to eat only the amount listed by the nutritionist but some days I can't seem to get enough I read in a lapband book written by a doctor who had had the procedure that it was normal and would not affect your weight los though I'm sure some would disagree. My doctor says as long as I'm losing 2-3 lbs per week I'm fine. When were you banded
