He was just featured on the Health Channel. I think he has lost 400# but apparently isn't planning any weight loss surgery at this time. When he first made the news he was planning on being flown to Italy and have a gastric bypass performed by some surgeons that took an interest in him and answered his ad in the paper for help. They didn't think he could be safely flown and put it off for a while. I couldn't understand why he didn't work with the surgeons in Monterrey, some of whom are the best in the world. Who is bringing him the food?????? He can't walk. How did he get to such a horrible condition before help was sought?

This appeared in the Dallas Morning News today: Dr. Weaver said the petition organizers are deeply troubled by Mr. Bush's decision to invade Iraq, detain prisoners without trial and allow torture. "I think that George Bush has been, in his presidency, so inconsistent with fundamental Christianity that he should not be associated with a Methodist university," Dr. Weaver said. "Methodist means decency, and this man has not been decent." http://www.dallasnews.com/sharedcontent/dws/news/washington/stories/011907dnmetbushmethodist.511bb5f9.html

Barak needs more experience, but I think he'd make a great future ticket. I too think a Clinton/Obama ticket would be good. I think that would be the greatest combination and then in 8 years he will be ready to lead. I really don't care what shade of color he is, I like him and think he is going to high places. Mary -
Hillary Clinton, First Woman President of the US. Would you vote for her?

Well calculated publicity, I'd say. wouldn't surprise me to see the 3 of them toasting each other in a Manhattan restaurant after hours. Wouldn't surprise me much - I am not overly fond of either one of them, but I can find a little sympathy for Barbara. She didn't bring this about and tried to make peace and now is getting kicked in the a** by both of them and lost a friend. If Rosie had kept her mouth shut none of this would have happened, when she called the Donald a "pimp" in her blog that kinda gives him the right to say whatever. He doesn't have to play "nice". And what was the problem with him giving that girl a second chance? It was his show, his business. Nobody asked Rosie to voice an opinion.

I too live in Dallas, or to be exact right on the Dallas/Lancaster line. Had surgery on June 2 this year and have made my goal. Promised myself a new pair of pants if I did it before my birthday, but now it has been too cold to shop! Guess I will just tie a rope around my "fat pants" and wear them till the spring thaw! Mary

, but this year I'm going to add Sweet Potato Pie. I've never had it but people say it is good. Sweet potato pie is to die for! I make a sweet potato casserole which is about the same as the pie filling with a brown sugar nut topping. My turkey is smoked and in the freezer. My daughter is making a different dressing with nuts and bacon. Luckily I am at the point where I can eat everything, just small portions. Our dinners are small, just my 2 daughters, 1 son in law and one grandson. Actually it would be cheaper to go out and eat, but then we graze on the left overs the rest of the week. I have been canning pears and making them colored, like green mint, blue ginger, red cinnamon - I made a pear raisen conserve - and think I will make some kind of a fruit salad and also do a broccolli bacon salad with sunflower seeds. This conversation is making me hungry, think I better go! Mary

No, I have not been for impeachment either, unless all of them were thrown out, meaning Bush, Cheney and Rove. Just impeaching Bush wouldn't change anything leaving Cheney still in power. I won't say that I hate Bush, I think he is the village idiot, puppet and just want him to GO AWAY -SOMEWHERE- TO ANY OTHER PLANET, and take his friends with him. I think the book "Hunting of the President" by Joe Conason and Gene Lyons is the best one explaining what happened behind the scenes. As rotten as Lee Atwater was he apologized on his deathbed for his actions. A little conscience too late. Mary B

Amen to all you said - I have been pondering on why Clintons' zipper failure was such a big deal when George Bush, Sr had his honey, Newt Gingrich was bopping the help as did Rudy Guilano, marrying the last one, then there was Henry Hyde and numerous others with questionable morals. We didn't hear much about them, tho. Wonder why not? Clinton didn't invade a country that had not attacked us, causing thousands of deaths and maiming of innocents. Nor did he cause us to be hated internationally as Bush has. Who wants to be called "the ugly American"? Mary B

I live in the DFW but was thinking about going to MEX to get it done because of the price difference. My parents are paying for the surgery and i wanted help to find a affortable and reliable doctor. were looking for the price around ********************************************************* I am also in Dallas and I went to Dr. Sanchez in Monterrey, Mex. He is very experienced and I am more than pleased. Go to Ready4Achange. He offers three packages to choose from. I took the $8,500 one and paid my airfare which was about $430. For fill doctors there is Dr. Maese who is Dr. Sanchezs' nephew, he has two offices, one in North Dallas, the other in Ferris. The other fill Dr is Dr. Dobson. Dr. Stephanie is located in Bryan and is also banded. There may be others in the area, these are the 3 I know about. Mariah

How do you know that the LB vs. RNY is the right decision for you? I, Nathalie My daughter had the RNY several years ago and has been sick ever since. Her intestines twisted and she had to be hospitalized. She has intestinal problems, severe malapsorbtion, right now so is so anemic that if she can't turn it around with Iron etc she will have to be hospitalized again. Dumping is a real problem too, if too much sugar is eaten you get sick. At the time the surgeon told her it was the "gold standard" but we sure wish she had gone to Mexico and had the lapband. The lapband doesn't cause malnutrion because of malapsorbtion nor dumping or the other unpleasant and severe problems of the RNY. You should stay completely healthy with it. If you splurge a little on sugary things you won't suffer for it. You can control the lapband - how much restriction etc. It is reversable, or you just leave it without a fill if you don't need it, not a surgery where organs are cut and rerouted. You can always have the lapband and if you want to later on have the RNY, if you find you cannot work with the band. After living with my daughter and seeing the side effects of this surgery, there is no way I would ever have the RNY. Mary

Best and worst reactions to telling people you were banded?

Which had a psychic on there named sylvia brown and listening to her got me thinking and I wanted to tell you that maybe your consult being moved back a week and then your surgery date being moved back a week too is your mother doing it to show you that she doesn't want you to have this done" I am a fan of Sylvia Brownes-have heard her speak in person and see her on the Montel show and read all her books. I can't imagine how anything she said could have been interpeted to mean your mother didn't approve and thats' why your dates were moved. Sylvia is very health concious and certainly wouldn't have come up with that story - think somebody is very confused:rolleyes: - just do what you know is best for you. Good luck
