Thanks again Tammy for keeping us "together".

My DH just fried them. I had about 4 small bites and they were yummy! I have the try the sausage recipe tho. Laurend-I work for the Game and Parks and it was a Conservation officer (Game Warden) who brought them in. We get a lot of people who will bring us their mushrooms to identify them so we all have to know the difference.

Are we going to be Marchies in May, or March into May? Weight loss can and does change your cycle. Mine was every 35-49 days, but when I started losing weight pre-surgery, it went to 28-30 days. Last month I wasn't my normal bitchy self for 3 days (that was a nice change for DH) but it sure was heavy.

Nurseamy, Hang in there. I don't get my first fill until May 8. I can't wait. I have been eating normal (had a swiss, mushroom burger from Runza toady). I keep trying and trying to do smaller meals and chew, chew, chew. I still get discouraged. I have only lost 24 lbs and that was within the first two weeks of surgery. I know that things will change when I get a fill. It might be the first fill, but when we hit that sweet spot, look out!!!

Just got back from my walk. I did 1.8miles with one pound weights on both wrist and both ankles. Then I took them off and did .4 without the weights just to cool down. I had an NSV while walking. I had to keep pulling up my sweet pants. I finally had to tie them. I couldn't put two and two together as to why they were falling down. DUH! I am still only down 24 lbs, but something is getting smaller.

I still haven't got my veg garden in. It will not stop raining long enough to till it again. I have everything but the plants (tomatos, potatos, peppers). I want to play in the dirt sooooooo bad. I hope that next week will be better.

I am going to do the 30 min. sessions and the water. I am planning on starting Monday. I am hoping to be able to do my Sweating videos at least 3 times per week plus walking and a little weights. Now is that 100 crunches A DAY? If so, I will have to wait for that until maybe next month. I was off today and since I haven't spent a lot of time with my daugher lately decided to take her out of school for a mom and daughter day. We went to the Pizza Machine. I asked the lady at the counter if the would accept my card (the one that states that I had lapband) and they did. I got the kids price for lunch. I had a taco salad without the shell and it was great (I also had about 1/4 cup of an orange slushie). We spent about 2 1/2 hours playing the games and had a wonderful time. Now I have to stay up late trying to get things done around the house but it is well worth it just to spend time alone with my baby girl. My husband tore something in his elbow so he can't help. So I have to finish cleaning the storage room so I can put everything back into it so that my exercise/craft/office room is cleaned again. This weekend I also have to stain and put up trim in my kitchen, living room and hall after I paint the bathroom and kitchen. This is on top of the regular cleaning I have to do. I am also planing on moving my recumbent/elipical (sp) bike downstairs. I am off this weekend, but work the next and have to be out of town the one after that for work then it is my sons graduation weekend and this house will look nice. Now if it will quit raining for about 3 or 4 days in a row I can put in my garden and plant some replacement plants for the ones that I lost out front from the cold weather we had a few weeks ago. Wish me luck. To bad all this work I have to do doesn't count towards the exercise challenge, I could start tonight and be done for the rest of the week.

I hit the post button and low and behold, there's Kyethra. So how are you doing?
-
Has anyone heard from Kyethra? Didn't she have her gallbladder romoved yesterday? I had my HIDDA scan today, hope to get the results soon and hope that I don't need another surgery. Keeping my fingers crossed.

Don't warn my husband, he still runs faster then me!!!!LOL!!! I get my first fill May 8, 11:15, YES!! I know I need it. My thoughts on PMS, it sucks. I have had it bad for years, but for some reason, it wasn't bad this time. My flow is heavier then normal so I am thinking that Juli is right about the hormones. Talk to ya soon.

Other than buying tomato, pepper plants and seed potatoes, I am ready. BUT I have to work this weekend and don't have time to put anything in. I am trying a few new things this year, but the one I might need help with is kohlrabi. I wanted to try it last year, but ran out of space. I'm sure I can grow it, but then what? Can it be canned? How is it prepared? HELP!

I liked the way I remember me looking at 135. Being 5' and "top heavy" it just seemed to be wheneI looked more evenly proportioned.
-
It has also been one month for me!! Before surgery I was hoping to lose about 25 lbs the first month, well, I made it to 24 lbs. I am going to get a fill soon (I hope) I just want to eat and eat and eat. Why is it that when you know you shouldn't it is sooooo easy to eat the wrong stuff? Last night I was out with my 11 yo DD and she wanted Taco Bell around 8:30pm, big mistake. I got one of those steak torquitos (sp) and ate the all of it. Then I got home and and vegged the rest of the night. Bad girl, band girl.

Northernsun, I think I read in the paper that local Soup kitchen or food banks will take the extra's from your garden. Give em a call. Green, I'm not sure when our growing season starts. Last year I started in mid April, this year will be the (hopefully) the first part of March. Got the garden tilled last night, all that rich, dark dirt looks beautiful. I want to get my raddishes asap, but I have to work this weekend, so maybe next week.

I hope that all works out for you Laurie. I gave you the wrong information, Dr McBride (she) is at UMNC, but my surgery was at Creighton. I looked and couldn't find on their website if they are a center of excellence. I hope you get your answers soon. You are who this surgery is for. People who have tried and failed to loss on their own, and now have health problems because of yo-yo dieting. I wish you the best of luck.

Grandmasson, Creighton is where I got my band. That is where Dr McBride is. You can call Sue at 402-559-5508 and talk to her. She is also the person to talk to about getting a packet that you need to fill out and bring to a meeting on the third Monday of every month. You are also going to need copies of the last 2 years of your medical records. If you need any more info, let me know.

Just checking in to see how everyone is doing. I e-mail my nurse to see if I can get a fill on May 8 or 9. I am still only eating about 1 cup a food per sitting, but I am hungery withing a hour or two. I hope they can get me in. I am also off on those days so that would be a bonus. The scale didn't move, still 199 and holding, so that is good news. I have just uped my walking to about 2 miles 4 times per week. When we get the basement done (hopefully soon) then I will add weights and start doing my Sweating videos (still love Richard).
-
Tracy, I can't believe that you only have 10 days left!!! You have been such an uplifting person to all of us here and I hope that you continue to come and check up on us and encourage us after you are banded. Best of luck to ya sweetheart, you deserve it and a whole lot more!!!
-
You can check with UNMC about Dr McBride. I am not sure if she is "approved". She even has the band. I think that medicaid also wants proof of 6mo to 1 year of medically supervised diet. Also, don't forget to right down any, and I do mean ANY medical problem that you have that might be from being overweight. I will to be at the Kearney Expo on May 11 & 12 for work. Do you have any kids that might be coming to that?

Did you lose weight before your first fill?
Mrs Husker replied to sleepyjean's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
I will be 4 weeks tomorrow and am down between 24-27 lbs depending on the day. I have noticed that I need to cut back again on the carbs (lots of potatoes lately). -
This is what I see when I look out the window at work. Got to love it.

What's Your Favorite Type of Pet?
Mrs Husker replied to donali's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
Come on!! I can't be the only one that love's reptiles??? I have a 5 year old bearded dragon named Liz. She is a hoot. I also have a dog and a cat. We have had in the past snakes, hamsters, ginny pigs, turtles, fish and spiders. I had a cockateal (sp) for 3 days, but DH allergies got to him so the bird had to go. -
I just re-read your first thread on Mr P. I am with you 100%. This man is a creep. Or the new Mrs P just gives one hell of a.... you know (wink-wink). My first husband left me and our 18 month old son for my very good friend. So needless to say Mr P's actions have left me with a nasty taste in my mouth also. I will pray that all of this does not continue to be a wedge between you and your DH and that your DH will come to terms with the fact that Mr & the nasty, scanky, trampy, gutter slag, gold-digging whore, new Mrs P are never going to be you friends.
