daningje posted a topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Hey I was looking for anyone who was banded in GR or surrounding areas to chat and share info with. I am currently working with grand river facility, Dr. Jarret Beane anyone else.:yikes: -
I was wondering does your weight loss seem to stop during your menstrual cycle. This is only my third month and was wondering if this is a trend. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

daningje replied to serenity55's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Well it has been an interesting journey so far. I did have some issues and gained some weight back, however I am on the right track. I have lost about 74lbs at this point, but I am on my way to the goal of 100. Everyone is doing such a great job...... -
Is it harder to lose the second half of your weight
daningje posted a topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I was band on feb 26 and made it to my half way point about a week ago. I have about 50 more pounds to lose. Everyone keeps telling me that the next fifty will be a lot harder. Just wondering for those banded and in the home stretch is it really harder. -
Is my band too tight?
daningje replied to amberd910's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Actually you may be ok. A lot of people find they are to tight in the morning to eat breakfast and stick to a protein shake. Then are lunch time things loosen up. My doctor told me not to be surprised if I can not eat breakfast once I get to my sweet spot. Good Luck -
I would call your doctor for sure. You should have no problems getting liquids down. However, soup is consider a soft food not a liquid, so be sure to tell your doctor you ate that. It may have irritated the band and causes swelling around the band which can make it feel tighter. You will more than likely get a slight unfill. Good Luck Oh and to update your ticker you go to edit signature and double click on your ticker. When it takes you to the website you put in your pin and update your weight.

Silly Question about tickers and weight loss
daningje posted a topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I was wondering when people are displaying the amount of weight they lost if it includes there pre-op weightloss as well. I am having a hard time with what to expect from the band and in looking at some peoples numbers they seem very larger. I know we are all different, but I am curious. -

Does weight loss pick up once you hit the sweet spot
daningje posted a topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I am two months post op and am barely losing weight. I was wondering if the weight loss will pick up once my band is filled to where it is suppose to be. I work out everyday and eat quality meals and still nothing. Almost all the weight loss on my ticker is preband. -
5 month check in..should I be disappointed?
daningje replied to perth bridetobe's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
I was wondering if people are counting what they lost before surgery when discussing this. I am only about 5 weeks out and have lost 12 just from banding and hard work, but lost 28 pounds before surgery. I also am having a hard time with what to expect. -
Help! 3 fills and no change!!
daningje replied to kokopelli's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
I had my 2nd fill yesterday and I still do not have a ton of restriction, I will know more when I am on solids. However, I asked why they are so conservative with fills, and the research shows people who are filled slowly have better success and are more able to cope with banding because it is a learning process. This way they know there body better, also you do not want to get stuck and have all the fluid removed and start over. I can take many months to find your sweet spot. -
First two months What did you lose?
daningje posted a topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Hey all I was wondering what people lost in the first two months. I am a little frustrated, and I wanted to see if my slow progress was normal. -
First two months What did you lose?
daningje replied to daningje's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
For those who were wondering I have only lost 10 of the 36 pounds since being banded. The rest I lost before. I work out for one hour a day and stay under 1000 calories. I just want to make sure I am doing everything right. -

My Scale will Not Budge(What am I doing wrong?)
daningje posted a topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I has been three weeks since I had surgery and I have only lost 7 pounds and that was in the first week. I am taking in about a 1000 calories and at least 60 protein. I work out an hour everyday and still for the last two weeks nothing. Help PLease...................:lunch: -
Our doctors procedure is 48 hours of liquids, followed by 48 hours of mushies, and slowly introduce problem foods. Maybe you should ask you doctor why so many days on liquids. However, I know every doctor is different

Band & Panic attacks anyone?
daningje replied to misslonglegs's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I also have panic attacks, however when I saw my therapist they said that losing weight and have a more managed meal schedule may help with the attacks. That she has seen some relations. Heres Hoping!!!!!!!!!! -
I was also banded on Thursday, I would have to say the gas pain can be quite unpleasant, but you are right walking does help. I am also getting a lot of mucus, but I am sure it is b/c I am eating and drinking to fast. My stomach has been making noises that I never heard before. Well it is great to have someone banded on the same day, hey just wonder what you have been eating. Hope to talk soon Jen

They scheduled my date for March 5, 2009. Yeah I am glad to see there are other march bandsters out there with me. Go March
