Fabulous February Bandsters check in
daningje replied to serenity55's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Well it has been an interesting journey so far. I did have some issues and gained some weight back, however I am on the right track. I have lost about 74lbs at this point, but I am on my way to the goal of 100. Everyone is doing such a great job...... -
Is my band too tight?
daningje replied to amberd910's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Actually you may be ok. A lot of people find they are to tight in the morning to eat breakfast and stick to a protein shake. Then are lunch time things loosen up. My doctor told me not to be surprised if I can not eat breakfast once I get to my sweet spot. Good Luck -
I would call your doctor for sure. You should have no problems getting liquids down. However, soup is consider a soft food not a liquid, so be sure to tell your doctor you ate that. It may have irritated the band and causes swelling around the band which can make it feel tighter. You will more than likely get a slight unfill. Good Luck Oh and to update your ticker you go to edit signature and double click on your ticker. When it takes you to the website you put in your pin and update your weight.

Is it harder to lose the second half of your weight
daningje posted a topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I was band on feb 26 and made it to my half way point about a week ago. I have about 50 more pounds to lose. Everyone keeps telling me that the next fifty will be a lot harder. Just wondering for those banded and in the home stretch is it really harder. -
How are the february 09 bandsters doing?
daningje replied to JENNIFER7375's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I was banded on Feb. 26, I am doing ok. I have lost 27 pounds since surgery. I go in for my fourth fill tomorrow and hope that kick starts everything. Have not really lost in a week or so.... -
I was wondering does your weight loss seem to stop during your menstrual cycle. This is only my third month and was wondering if this is a trend. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Silly Question about tickers and weight loss
daningje posted a topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I was wondering when people are displaying the amount of weight they lost if it includes there pre-op weightloss as well. I am having a hard time with what to expect from the band and in looking at some peoples numbers they seem very larger. I know we are all different, but I am curious. -
Soon to be banded in MI
daningje replied to Brittney365's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
I too am from michigan and got my band on Feb 26th. Where are you getting your band done. I go through the best program in Grand Rapids, MI. They have the most awesome support group and aftercare. Good luck with the surgery, it is worth it.:rolleyes2: -
Does weight loss pick up once you hit the sweet spot
daningje posted a topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I am two months post op and am barely losing weight. I was wondering if the weight loss will pick up once my band is filled to where it is suppose to be. I work out everyday and eat quality meals and still nothing. Almost all the weight loss on my ticker is preband. -
5 month check in..should I be disappointed?
daningje replied to perth bridetobe's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
I was wondering if people are counting what they lost before surgery when discussing this. I am only about 5 weeks out and have lost 12 just from banding and hard work, but lost 28 pounds before surgery. I also am having a hard time with what to expect. -
Help! 3 fills and no change!!
daningje replied to kokopelli's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
I had my 2nd fill yesterday and I still do not have a ton of restriction, I will know more when I am on solids. However, I asked why they are so conservative with fills, and the research shows people who are filled slowly have better success and are more able to cope with banding because it is a learning process. This way they know there body better, also you do not want to get stuck and have all the fluid removed and start over. I can take many months to find your sweet spot. -
First two months What did you lose?
daningje replied to daningje's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
For those who were wondering I have only lost 10 of the 36 pounds since being banded. The rest I lost before. I work out for one hour a day and stay under 1000 calories. I just want to make sure I am doing everything right. -
First two months What did you lose?

Hey all I was wondering what people lost in the first two months. I am a little frustrated, and I wanted to see if my slow progress was normal. -
I was banded on Feb. 26, 2009 and so far it is going great. I want to use this blog to document my progress. Thus far I have lost 10lbs in the first month with the band. I also lost 28lbs before surgery. I had my first fill yesterday, March 26, 2009. Thus far I am feeling great.
