    Plateaus anyone??

Hello everyone! I too am at a plateau. I lost around 16 lbs in the first 2 weeks after surgery on 1/21 and have only lost around 2 lbs since. I have started to exercize 4-5 days a week and am definately seeing a difference in my clothes. I am ready to throw the scale out the window though!! It's just not matching the results in my head. The only problem is, I have no restriction!! I am having to diet like mad and I can't wait for my first fill. Hopefully that will do the trick. My Dr is very conservative on fills but I am going to ask him to put in 2cc's. He doesn't put any in to begin with so I think this might be reasonable. Any thoughts??

    Pre surgery testing

I have sleep apnea and use a cpap machine. The doctor asked me to bring my machine with me the day of surgery in case they needed to use it in the recovery room. They didn't need to. The sleep study was interesting. They hook you to a million leads all over your body then say, relax and sleep. Somehow I managed to! Getting the cpap was one of the best things I ever did. I sleep so much better and am not a zombie anymore. I hope that as my weight falls of, I will be able to eliminate using it! Good luck!
  3. I'm glad you had a good experience and that is all that matters after all. I heard the information about Dr Waldrep from staff at the hospital so it sounds like it was incorrect. Thanks for pointing it out.

    Any side sleepers???

I am having the same issue. I was banded 1/21. I have been using an extra pillow and sleeping on my back. I wake up with a neck ache but it's better than the side pain

Oh no! Bridal functions! Need advice ASAP

Here is one idea for an excuse not to drink. Tell them you have a bladder infection or (insert other infection) and are on antibiotics which make you unable to drink. Might work..
  6. Hello! I just had my lapband surgery on 1/21 at Sutter General with Dr Patching. My experience with him has been very good and very frustrating. Here is what I have determined.. He holds you accountable to do your part. If you are not willing to diet/exercise prior and after the surgery, he will not do it. This is the right approach I believe. The doctor in Roseville apparently does not operate like this and will do the surgery regardless of the patients commitment to change. Dr Patching has a great reputation as a surgeon and actually teaches this procedure at UC Davis Medical school. I can put up with a small lack of bedside manner for technical expertise. There is lots of support available through his office. Stacy, his coordinator, is amazing. There are support groups etc. Overall, I would do it again

    Few questions

I am with you!! I had my surgery on 1/21 and am also starving! I get to the full liquid diet on Friday so I am excited. At least then it's yogurt and cream of wheat. I am wondering if my progress seems normal. I am still in quite a bit of pain 1 week later. Mainly on the left side, I believe this is where the port is. Gas is also my enemy! I burp and the other quite a bit..
  8. Surgery date 1/21. I am very excited and nervous!
