  1. I guess there are any number of reasons I'm having WLS. 1. I have Cerebral Palsy already, so the extra weight makes it that much more difficult to get around. 2. To fit in clothes I like rather then HAVE to wear. 3. To help reverse my high blood pressure, borderline diabetes, etc 4. To have people look at ME and not my weight. 5. Meet someone, maybe get married. 6. Keep my friends and family from worrying about me. 7. Be able to enjoy myself when I go out in public. Yes, there's only 7, but the main reason I'm having this done is so so i can LIVE!!!

Lipton's has really good Cold Brew Iced Tea Bags. They don't take long to make and it's very refreshing.

    January 12th bandsters

I'm January 12th too!!! I'm 34 years old and live in Michigan also. I live with my parents. I'm hoping to lose at least 100 but up to 140 or so pounds overall. I know it'll be a long, long journey, but I'm really looking forward to it. I started pre-op dieting on December 20th. 2 shakes a day, and a sensible dinner. Which was hard with Christmas, but i just stayed away from all Pasta, potatoes, sweets etc. on Christmas Eve and Day. I'm pretty proud of myself. Sunday I started the 3 shakes a day and boy am I going crazy. I hope I get adjusted to this soon. My mom, bless her heart, did make homemade chicken Soup on Sunday (my first day of the 3 shakes a day diet) thinking I could have at least the broth with dinner. Then she looked at the list I posted on the fridge. GL to all of us and hope to talk to you all more!

    Terrified of my PreOp Diet

I'm currently in my 2 week pre-op diet also. 3 shakes a day. Water or no-cal sugar free decaffeinated drinks throughout the day. I will admit, I'm looking forward to the day before surgery when I can have something other then the shakes! Cooking and cleaning are my rent here at my parents, but they're being great and understanding about my not wanting to cook for the next week or so, just until I get used to not eating with them that is.

    Hi :-)

Hi all! I'm Cori from Michigan. I'm getting the Lap Band surgery on January 12th. This has been a LONG time coming. Years ago, I was in the process of trying to get it through my insurance company while I was working. I ended up losing my job before I could get final approval, but that's all I was waiting on. This past summer, the opportunity came up for me to get it again. This time it's Self-Pay. So I don't have to go through all the red tape that I had to before. I'm very excited and anxious at the same time. I have a very close friend who had it done, so I'll have some support from him also. I also have my family backing me all the way. They all want me healthy and happy again. As far as I see it, getting the surgery shortly after the New Year means starting off the new year the right way! With a new me! Along with being heavy, I also have Cerebral Palsy. Its a very mild form, just affects my legs and how I walk. So the extra weight hasn't helped with my getting around. So losing this weight will help me with that.
