I was banded on 12-31-08 have lost maybe 50 and feeling like a complete failur with it all.. To top it off- My insurance comapnay had come back and said they recooped all their money becasue it wasnt a covered procudure! This is after I got an approval letter and they even gave a per cert number the day before. They paid for it in March and ow took all their money back and say I owe the 35000.00! now- I cant afford it even if I sold everything in my house- What can I do- How am I going to pay this- If they garnish my checks I wont have enough to support my famly etc.. Can they do this? Can any one help me- I dont have the money for an attorney to fight them.... :drool:

How much have you lost so far? What foods are you having trouble with and how much is in your band right now. I know it can be hard- I havent llost anything in 2 months- But I have lost 50 so far so I say thaqt is good.. :party:

Is it possible to do this? I mean I know over time you can but I just worry because I am still able to eat bread etc. not that I eat alot of it but I can still eat well. I am at 6cc and I worry that I have stretched out my new pouch already? I was banded on 12/30- PLease tell me I am over reacting - I have only lost 40 pounds total and everyone says I should have lost more by now--:tt1:

I was banded on Dec 30- as some of you may remember and all went well. Have followed the diet well- I have lost about 40 pounds-- But here is my concern, I have had 3 fills- and up to 5 cc I beleive and I feel as if I can eatmore now then I could last month-- not that I am just shoveling food in my face but it seems to take more to make me full. Do you think I have already stretched the puch out? I have had a couple or so of meals that werent necessarly diet meal as I call them here and there but I just wondered if it is possible to have messed the pouch up? Or canyou get a leak in your band? I waited a month before goin back for a another fill to see how I do- I go in Monday and I just feel that I am not at my sweet spot yet- I am still able to drink a little during meals and can have some breads a little-- How long does it take to get to your sweet spot? Has anyone had a fill and able to eat more? Thank you everyone- You all are such great support and help!

I bought several and tried these 4 and dint like the taste so now I had these large jugs just sitting on my table. I would like to sell them and so I can buy another flavor. I also have a few boxes of meals for right after the surgery that I didnt use. Anyone need some??

I have twisted cherry that is opened and only 2 scoops gone and then I have a new fuzzy navel NOT opened- both are the large 2.14 lbs bottles. I will take 25.00 for each.

so far all of mine are still in prosess with insurance but I do know right now for my lapband surgery with no over night stay and I am at 33K right now-- I had to pay 1100 up front for the psy eval, food supplements, and other doc cost that arent covered by insurance so I am sure after it is all said and done I will be paying 5000 or so for my 20%-- :-(

:tongue: Question.... I was banded on 12-30 and I was wondering who all can feel your port? Where is it located? I am scared that mine flipped as I have read about with a few others? I cant take anymore time off of work to go back into surgery- am I just being a worry wort?? Thanks Ladies and Gents!

No I am not sick or in pain- I had a few shar pains and pulling feelins a week ago but I realy feel great now- I just worry I guess because of those sharp stabbing pains a week ago and that I couldnt feel it-

I have UHC as well and it was pretty easy for me- I had to show 5 years worth of obesity which was just showing I had gone to a doc once a year and what they charted about my weight- turned it all in and was approved- I also had to go through the sleep study for sleep app. and that was paid for as well. SO far they have been great- Good Luck!!

I am on the pil also- just a progesterone-estrogen free so I shouldnt have one till I stop the pill -- I was banded 12-30 also and today I started and still taking the pill- so I dont understand it either...

from what my doc told me all carbinated drinks are out for life- they make your pouch swell and can cause bad ulcers- i would love a coke but dont wat to damge anything or be in pain.

I am able to eat tuna chicken veg now- week 3- but I have found I have gained 4 pounds back and I am still abe to eat more then the 1/2 cup total- is this normal? i dont feel any different now then before the surgery--does that make sense? thank you

***mistakes are human... therefor I am :grouphug: -- this is me as well I am sorry for not being as strong as you.. I am sorry that giving up my best friend for 35 years is harder on em then you... I am sorry that I may be confused or lost with this process.. I was informed- I have all the material- it states mushy food- lots of liquids- I followed it.. I just needed a little more.. Please dont be frustrated with the new comers that are reaching out for help- you dont know where I come from or what support I may or may not be getting from my docotr so reaching out here is all I had at the moment... Im sorry for being human...

Ok I am so lost- I was banded on dec 30- Did well with the diet for the first week. Only threw up a few times day of surgery after I gothome due to empty tummy and pain med- My doc says no foods for 3 weeks but I was so hungry that I started them already- When they band you is it filled then? I go back in a week is that when they put the Water in it? I feel so hungry like I dont have anything there and able to eat more then just the cup of food like outlined- Did it slip? Have I messed it all up from starting solids? How fast should I be losing weight? I feel like I did this all for nothing becasue I am so weak and couldnt do liquids for week 2- PLease help- Thanks Denise

Yes I was told and in week two in my book you can have some pured foods etc. I am more worried about the throwing up and the fact that I can eat more then told at this stage to feel full- I was worried it had slipped more then anything- But I would think that if I was or had ripped the stitches it would hurt when I ate wouldnt it? I will talk to me doc for sure but wanted to just find help here /advice sence I am all new to this-

Thank you for replying- how did they show you the band? How much have you lost--if you dont mind me asking- was it filled at the time of surgery or do the do the first fill at your follow up?
