Gained weight during pre-op
naynayto2 replied to vikki1012's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Hey Vikki~ I gained during my 6 month supervised diet and got approved the first time. I have BCBS of Alabama. I was worried too, but as usual I worried for nothing. Good luck! I can't wait until my surgery date. -
Hey Teri~ I live in Muscle Shoals and I'm scheduled for lapband surgery May 4th by Dr. Suggs in Decatur. I'm so excited and wish it was over. Glad to see someone so close on the forum.

Hey everyone just thought I'd start in this forum since some of you are probably taking hormones. I just wanted to know if anyone is on the Sottopelle hormone therapy(hormone pellets). I am suppose to have them implanted on the 20th and I was wondering if anyone has any information to share. Not yet banded (May '09)

Hey Amanda~ I really don't know much at this point, I'm having them implanted March 20th. My doctor just recommended them because my hormones are so low and I refuse synthetic ones. My doctor is the only one in my area implanting them and he went to Arizona to learn the procedure. I read some info and I'll share the websites with you. They are suppose to make you have more energy, lose weight easier, build muscle tone, etc. I'm willing to try it , dr. said if I don't like them I don't have to have them implanted anymore. Depending on the individual they need to be implanted every 4-6 months the first year, maybe less after that. The procedure suppose to be painless(?). They make a tiny slit in the fatty part of your hip and insert the pellets and use the little strips to close the slit. I'll know more friday and update. Thanks for responding. www.sottopellelife.com www.sottopelletherapy.com

No, Curious I haven't seen that article before but it was very informative. I haven't been banded yet and I'm always looking for info. Thanks~ -
Hey everyone, Today is my first post however I've been lurking for quite some time. I have been approved but I probably want have surgery until May (my choice). I have mixed emotions about this but I think that is the norm. Just want to say hello and wish me well on my decision.

Thanks everyone for your encouragement. I'm pretty sure I"ll have the surgery unless the good Lord has a different plan. Thanks again.

HeatherO My son is in school (laid off work) and my daughter-in-law works full-time and I keep my granddaugher (9 months) part-time and she would be over my weight limit. So my son will be out for the summer for about a month and I think it will work out better for me because I'm also going to have a hernia repair so I probably will be on a weight limit for a least a month I guess. I was really hoping to have it done in March during AEA but that is only a week and she weights about 18 lbs and not walking either so their is know way around not lifting her. Sorry the reply was so long.
