Hi Amy! I'm by the coast near Coast Hwy. & Oceanside Blvd. I also lost weight in the past but have a difficult time keeping it off. I'm glad to know someone else considering lapband at UCSD. Have you had the initial consultation? Let me know if you have any questions. So far, I'll have my last "weigh-in" on Feb. 9; then my paperwork is resubmitted to my insurance company--hopefully, all will go well & be approved. Talk to you later! Kara

What is your BMI and where are you located. If there is a MTF that dose Lapband all you need is your Dr to send a referal and BMI over 40. I have triwest my self. I have not been banded yet but I have got everything started. -
Hey Oceanside buddy. I am in East Oceanside off the 76 . Can't wait to get Banded. I am 30 and I have 2 children. I have lost 100 lbs 3 tims and just gained it all back. I have a lot to lose. I would love to have somthing to talk to in the same boat. Amy

I got my referral yesterday now I just wait. She had a change of heart I did not even say anything she just gave it to me. I have no dout that this is what i need to do I have lost 100 lbs 3 time is the past 10 year for it all to come back and more. she also said my sugur is in the Diabetic range now. Go thing I went in when I did. thanks you everyone.

How should I approach my doc about surgery?

Well I got my referral today when I went in to see my Dr. She had a change of Heart I did not even say anything. she apologized for last week when she just said No. I also found out my sugar is high so it is a good thing I want to do this now before it get bad. I am so happy I am on my way -

I am in the same Boat the Dr dose not know me and she said NO I am going in again to give it another try today. I have a BMI of 43 and gain and lost 100s of pounds over the last 10 years. I hope the best for you -
I know it is covered 100% I just got the one Dr that think this is not a good thing. I will need to change Dr. It just take so much time. Thank you mountainmomma

My Dr will not reffed me till she know me. How long with that take? I am a military depended and I never see that same Dr. I am going in today to see her again. I hope she will put in the referral so I can get the ball rolling soon. I have 4 months before my hubby leaves and I want to get this done before he is gone.

I know that this is what to do I want I want to get the lap band. I need to lose 146 lbs . I need to get health for me and my family. I am a military depended and I have tricare prime. I don’t really know my Dr because they just send me to who ever is working really. I am scared that when I ask for the referral she will say No to me. Has this happened to anyone else. How did you ask your DR ?
