  1. Happy 47th Birthday Godschild!

  2. Hi!! I'm from Southern IL and thought it was cool to find someone from 'around' the area on this site. I am going to a seminar tomorrow in Herrin and pretty nervous just about that..haha.

  3. I would do it again. It has now been a year since my band. I feel so much better. I have more to lose, but I know I am going to get there. 1. Get involved in a support group and stay involved. I started, but do to my scheduling I couldn't continue. You get so much support from your bariatric community. They care about you and want to see you succeed and will help you to get to goal. 2. Get counseling right away. I started counseling when I started thinking about surgery. I learned a lot about my behaviors. Having the band does not make those feelings for eating go away. Counseling gave me the tools I needed for my emotional eating. 3. You still have to exercise. Even if you only walk 30 min. a day 5 days a week...every bit helps. If you exercise, you will be less likely to get too far off track. 4. DON'T FORGET....THE BAND IS ONLY A TOOL! NOT A CURE. Good luck and best wishes. :scared2:

    Mexican food?

I love the pollo local...the chicken is so moist. I do well with the beans and the rice. I eat my limit and take the rest home to enjoy later.
  6. My mother in law is Sue Williams... It has been about 7 years ago or so. She used to work with them at Gilster. I used to work at Gilster with Margie Hicky before she same to START. I am not sure if she still works there or not.

  7. Hi...How are you? You are not being nosey. It is a small world. I still work for START. Who is your mom?

  8. Sorry I didn't mean to be nosey but I looked at your myspace. I noticed you either still do or used to work for the START program out of Murphysboro. My mother inlaw used to work for them. Funny how small the world actually is....

  9. I just wanted to say hello to another Ava Illinois person. LOL I am actually living in Alaska at the moment. Husband is stationed up here. My mom is having GB and she was seeing the same Doc as you.. My parents still live out on Keller Highway.. I graduated from Trico in 99. Pretty cool so see someone from so close to home... Jennifer

  10. Well...Dr. Argotte is actually thinking about reopening a part time practice in Paducah again. He told us if he did, it would be the middle of August when he does. Right now I go in Herrin Illinois.

So... got some work to do.

That is fabulous. How proud you must feel. You sure motivated me to try harder. Way to go!!!
  12. We all will lose at different rates. The focus is.... we ARE losing.
  13. Drink a hot liquid to help it pass through.
  14. Dr. Argotte left the Paducah area.
  15. I understand all the hunger. I still stick to the 2 oz. at meal time. I am just afraid of screwing my surgery up. I drink constantly to keep the hunger away. I drink my protien drinks to help. Sugar free pops and jello help a lot too.
