  1. Happy 38th Birthday cjmtexas!

  2. I have been doing great. I have lost 28 pounds. I even lost between post surgery and first fill and 11 pounds between first and second fill. I really love Dr. Marsden. I am having my fills done the first year at the surgery center but he told me that I could go in and see him for anything at any time even a fill if I needed it. Hope all goes well for you. Let me know how things are going.

Has anyone had a fill yet?

I was banded on January 9th and have had my second fill (Monday). I am up to 4.6 cc. The first one did not hurt but I got an air bubble drinking the barium which did. The second fill was a breeze. No problems at all. Both were done under x-ray. The only thing I feel is just a little pressure when they put the Fluid in. I have noticed a definate difference in being less hungry after the second fill and having to chew, chew, chew more and eat very slowly. I did lose 11 pounds between fills though which I am excited about because several friends who have had this done did not lose much until they hit their sweet spot.

    Post-Op Reporting in!

I was banded on Friday (January 9th). I am absolutely not hungry. I have to make myself drink the protien shakes. I have found that adding a little bit of V8 fruit juice thins out the shakes and makes them easier to handle. The vanilla Atkins shake with strawberry/banana juice is really pretty good. I am looking forward to mushy foods on Friday. I am kind of tired of liquid only. I am still a bit sore around the incisions and my left side I have a bit of a stitch type pain but overall I am doing fine. I am definately sleeping better and have been able to sleep on my side for a little bit in the night. Just a bit of a tip from my aunt who is a nurse - make sure you get plenty of protien even in the first two weeks - this will help prevent any hair loss.
  7. I have surgery with him on January 9th. I don't know about the insurance requirements for diet with him because I am self-pay. I am on a two week preop diet. I do know that self pay is around 15,000. I do really like him though. He is very funny and like to talk. Carrie

I am on day three of my two week preop diet. The first day was the day after Christmas and it was hard but it has gotten better. I am sure that by the time my surgery date 01/09/09 comes I will be sick of green vegetables and fruit. My preop diet consists of 2 protien shakes and two "real food" meals fruit and whole grain for one and meat and green vegetables for the other.
  10. I am getting my banding done on January 9, 2009 in Hurst, Texas. I am very excited.
