I was banded in 2005. My highest weight was 300+ I quit getting on the scale after that went on a binge for about a month gained another 20lbs and then decided to start walking. I started walking and lost about 90lbs. got divorced gained 27 lbs. Maintaied that for about two yrs. Got remarried and started to gain again. Got to 270lbs and said no way not going back to that and got a lapband. I love my band.
the first yr I got down to 215lbs was doing really well then had a panic attack. People started saying I looked good and Something in side me put on the breaks. Then I got in a car wreck and had to have my band emptied(that was 2007)since then I have gained back most of my weight. So on may 29th I am going in to get my band refilled and start over. I have learned alot about myself since I was banded. I use to think that it was just what I was eating, but have found out it really is what is eating you. I have had to examine my life and find out what I need this fat for. I found that it kept me safe. I now have worked on that and know I am ok to be thin again. So here I go again.
I'm so grateful for my band. I know I can do this.
It has been a long journey most people lose the lbs and they are done. I'm grateful for my struggles I hope I can be helpful for those of you who may also be struggling, you are not alone.
