Laura steele replied to HAGS2121's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
O.K.,I too have been struggling with low weight loss this past year.Afriend and I discussed this subject just today. what is it about us that sets ourselves up for failure just as we get close.? All of us had the band placed as a last result.so now we have a tool that helps us restrict our portions but we still want to eat the old way! That for me means, too many sweets, fried foods cookies, etc. so I alredy know that indulgence of these foods made me fat in the first place! What is the mind block that makes me do this.?I say that I want to lose the rest of my weight but do I really want it bad enough to do the work or do I think by some miiracle the weight will just drop off(Iwish)!!! Maybe I think I look ok now??? I personally plan to take a good long look at this and make a decision either give up and accept where I am at or get with it and become a success story!!!!!!!! -

Thanks for answering my post.I went back to my Dr.on tues.and she removed 1/2cc.I am already able to eat a small ammount of meat and it is so good!!! I feel like now that I can eat some hard protein ,I will be able to do better .I plan to re-group and keep on trucking. Thanks for the pep talk!!! L.:smile2: -
Almost 2 years out from banding and feeling like a failure!
Laura steele replied to tryinghard44's topic in Weight Loss Surgery Success Stories
Hi,I just had to reply to your thread! you are not alone!!!I just passed my two year point and have not lost any credible ammount of weight this past year.I had a fill last April and have known I am to tight but felt like ,if I couldn't eat much ,surely i would lose a lot of:glare: weight .!Not so!!! I have struggled since then with not being able to eat solid foods to drinking a lot of Protein drinks to ice cream ,flavored coffee anything to satisfy me.Tomorrow I plan to start over with a small unfill(my first) and eat enough hard protein to hold me between meals.Of course I am unhappy with my weight loss results of 45 lbs in two years!!! It is still a struggle but I am not giving up!!! We can only start from where we are! My personal E.Mail is .....tamaya62@aol.com .....I would love to buddy -up and start fresh..Keep me posted...Laura -

Don't really care about goal anymore?
Laura steele replied to LeighaMason's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Hi,I have read many of your posts and have seen how successful you are. congratulations to you. recently there was a discussion on high protein versus just a regular diet.I get tired of feeling like should get more solid protein.I get a lot from my protein shakes.Solid can be to much for me ,mostly early in the day.Could you please give me an example of how you eat and how much you exercise?I must find a good example to follow.Thnx,L. -
Hey,all.I must jump in here.I don't post much.first of all congratulations to all who have lost weight ,whether it be slow or not. What's wrong with slow and steady? So,we hit a few plateaus along the way.I never thought this would be a quick fix. everday is a learning process. What can I tolerate, how much fill, how many calories.....Please ,can we all just relax and let the band help us control ourselves and not get so caught up in how fast we lose weight??Thanks for letting me vent,LOl,L

Seems like no one has posted on here for a long time.I am 18 months post-op and have come to a halt on weight loss.I know this is my own fault as I have become comfortable where I am.it is my intention to reach goal this year .I refuse to give up! Let's help each other get back on track :ohmy:Remember"slow and steady wins the race!Laura
