Turned into a Junk Food Junkie
Soon to be thin replied to Jillbeme65's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Well Ladies, even guys have this issue. I logged on to start my own panic thread, as I have gained 5lbs in the past 10 days, and I am in panic mode. Since June 2008, I have not had 10 days where I didn't loose any weight, so doing a gain is killing me. Tried a broccoli salad for lunch, and couldn't keep it down. Total calories today so far is 0, which I know is not good. Can't wait for dinner. I have a fill scheduled for Feb 5, but I wanted to loose more weight before then, not gain it! Add me to your prayers. DBK -
Should prostitution be legal?

I don't know about the rest of you, but the last time I opened the bible is read "Placed here by the Gideons" Not as moving as some, but ....... -
Should prostitution be legal?

Patty, Making Born Again Christians illegal was a joke. Second, the bible you have read was a translation, and a complete rewrite of anything close to the events and the original book. I didn't read it either as it was written in a dead language. The contents of the bible are argued about all the time. No one religion will agree with the other. Case in point.... BAC's believe in Adam and Eve. Science proved long ago there was no adam and eve. In your reply, you very quickly pass off the writings of the bible as God's word. That is not correct. Once again, it is a story told by several people, translated multiple times, and rewritten multiple times. If the people of the world could agree on what God says, we wouldn't have the wars we have now. Off the soapbox -

Should prostitution be legal?

I like the idea of making being a born again christian against the law. I think that would solve lots of things. Over time, I have been told I am going to hell many times because I did not get born again, and make the Lord Jesus my personal saviour. When I point out that I am Catholic born and raised - although not currently practicing - they say the original Baptism, and later Confirmation doesn't count. It appears to me, from my understanding of the bible, that Jesus hung with prostitutes and tax collectors (usually referred to as sinners) and other people who at the time were assumed to be sinners (leapers for example). Times changed, and Tax collectors are not sinners, neither are leapers. Also, please remember. Jesus or God the father, if you will did not write the Bible. Not the original one, not the King James version, most commonly used by Christians at this time. It is my understanding that only God can determine what is a sin, and only God can judge you for those same sins. Yet, I have been judged most by people who claim to be Christians. In my view, Prostitutes are not doing anything wrong. They are business people - please note the use of people, not women as Prostitutes come in many varieties. They provide a service and some of them make a tremendous amount of money - over $250K/year. I built this opinion by watching an HBO series called Cathouse, which follows the operations of the Midnight Bunny Ranch that is located outside of Reno, NV. It is the best known brothel in the US. The women on this show are bright, pleasant, and seem to genuinely enjoy their job. I would encourage the people against prostitutes to take a gander at this series. I think it will open your eyes. One last thing. I don't want to see a boatload of replies about Catholicism. I know it has it's faults and it's demons, and it is these things that make me a non practicing Catholic. Now put down that cookie and get back to loosing weight! -
Rochesterclothing.com has 501's all the way to 60 or more I believe. I have owned pairs that were 54. I prefer the 560 to the 501. Just a little more seat room. I'm waring a pair of 48's right now, even though I am a 46. Soon. Soon

If you read my post, you will see the surgeons name and location. Both my wife and I paid cash for the surgery. There was no coverage by insurance companies and fortunately, we did not have to finance. If you want to do it in Canada, use the $10K loan, and use cash to pay for the rest.

New Here..Explain what Pb stands for?
Soon to be thin replied to mlm's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Fine, but PBing is a misleading way to talk about it. Also, I didn't say for a moment that it was a good weight control method. Where ever did you get that statement. You have lost a lot BTW - good for you -
The only place I know where it can be done under $10K is Mexico. My X had it done by Ortiz, and the facility, care and surgery was outstanding. I did it here in Canada, paid $14K - flat tax in etc. DBK

New Here..Explain what Pb stands for?
Soon to be thin replied to mlm's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Come on..... Call it what it is. It is vomiting - plain and simple. It is not a burp - that requires gas, which we all don't do well. It occurs when you have 1. Eaten too much 2. Eaten too fast - not chewing enough, too big a piece 3. Drinking while eating. When it happens to me - about once per week - I need to be in a bathroom. While it is not something to do, it does happen, and in my opinion it is not that bad. There is no stomach acid, no bad taste. It tastes just like what you just ate. That's my 2 cents, but I have always hated the term used here PBing. It's vomiting - call it what it is -
46 does feel good, since I was wearing the 56 in june. What felt better is being able to fit comfortably in this little sports car I wanted. An Infinity G37S coup. I am very encouraged to learn I am only 30 lbs or so from fitting in jeans from a regular store. I love the quality of places like Rochester B&T, but I would love to stroll into Macys or even K-mart and buy regular clothes. It will happen this year. I am looking forward to it. DBK

I started in a 56 jean, and now I am in a 46. I am really hoping I will get into a 34-36 when I get to 200. Does anyone think that is a reality? I'm 6 feet tall. Cheers DBK

Been there too. I actually prefer to eat alone these days, because I can eat slowly and carefully. I find I can eat almost anything if I am alone. Question though. You have been banded for 2 plus years. Why is the weight loss so low. 46 lbs isn't much - especially for a guy. Just interested. Not my intention to offend. Cheers DBK

I'm not gonna be much help. I'm a scotch and wine drinker myself. I have the occasional beer, and would recommend Guinness. It is a little less carbony if you will than regular draft. It's also cool - even among bikers. Try riding with a British motorcycle group. That's what they drink Cheers DBK

holy crap, now I know what PB and slime means

It's not that bad. Come on. It tastes like what you ate. No stomach acid, no burning sensation. I'm not saying do it, but it isn't something to fear. Cheers DBK -
Well, I own and operate a video production company that makes instructional DVD's on how to use digital cameras. They are called JumpStart Guides, and if you want to know more visit www.jumpstartguides.com Cheers DBK

Valentine's Day Weight Loss Challenge/goals
Soon to be thin replied to ukcatsfan's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Well, I have been doing 15-20lbs a month, so a challenge is to hit 30 in about 6 weeks. Excercise, no alcohol (the holidays) and no treats - I should be able to achieve it or close to it. I also have a fill on Feb 5 Good luck -
Valentine's Day Weight Loss Challenge/goals
Soon to be thin replied to ukcatsfan's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
OK, first post and I'm in. I was banded on June 9, 2008 at 362lbs maximum. Last time I weighed in was December 23 at 280lbs. I'll go for 250lbs - or 30 lbs by Valentines day. It's aggressive, but I think I could pull it off if I add exercise to my day from now on. Looking forward to reporting back. Oh, BTW, the picture is at 60lbs down. I'll update on Valentines day.
