Will I need someone to take care of me after surgery?
soontobeme replied to Britalian's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I just wanted to congatulate you on your amazing transformation! How long did take to lose it and is it difficult to keep it off now? Are you constantly watching what you eat? Thanks for the advice. Cara in KC -
Hey jazzer, sounds like your sense of humor is really going to come in handy! I too am new to this chat room stuff I guess it's an age thing for me! I was thinking about 2009 today! We have so much to look forward to! A new Pres, new bod, going shopping for cool clothes that are not in the "special" section, looking good in pics and in our clothes! Feeling healthy, proud that we made a stand against obesity and having energy! Stay strong and so will I! Cara:wink2:

Hey banders! I just happened on this site by chance and I am so happy that I did! What a great support group you have here! I am getting my band on January 19 ( a very popular day! ) seems like it has been a very long road already! Seeing all the docs, nutritionist ( like I don't know what I SHOULD be eating! ), crazy doc (if you are overweight you must be crazy! ), the cardio doc ( now this one I was happy to see ). Finally I am here! yeah! I would like some ideas on shakes if anyone has any. I am happy to be here with all of you! Cara in KC:lol:

Anyone getting banded in January
soontobeme replied to Peanutband's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
Hey Peanutband, I just read your response where you were thinking of backing out? Are you still worried? Hope not, of course you are scared before surgery, we all are alittle or we would be crazy right? I am sad about having to give up eating since that is what I love and that is what has gotten me in this mess of yoyo and weight issues. But look at it this way, we will now have focus on ourselves instead of what we are going to eat! We can now think about looking good in our clothes, going shopping in the regular department, looking good in photos, having the energy to run with our kids and finally being proud of ourselves not ashamed! Stay strong and all these wonderful opportunities will be there for you in 2009! Cara:thumbup: -

Hey Istra, we are getting banded the same day and have about the same amount of weight to lose. I would like to keep in touch to see how different it is for us since we do have less to lose? Cara in KC:thumbup: -
:smile:Hey Jazzer, thanks for the ideas! What a great way to look at it! I am just looking at it with dread! We didnt get this way by not liking to eat! Where did you get the optifast shakes? Are they whey or soy protein? wish you all the success but it sounds like you have the right mind set! Take care and happy new year! Cara

Anyone getting banded in January
soontobeme replied to Peanutband's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
peanutband, you are so lucky only 2 days of liquids! That almost has me more scared than the surgery itself! I read that after surgery you are so constricted by the band that you couldnt eat even if you tried! Are you excited! What does your family think? -
Anyone getting banded in January
soontobeme replied to Peanutband's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
Hello Peanutband! I am a brand new member and will be banded on January 19th. I am both excited and alittle scared! I was wondering if anyone else has used appetite sup. in order to make it through the pre-op liquid diet phase? How much hunger after the band to you experience? Are you excercising to move the weight loss along faster? Thanks for your help! Cara in KC:w00t:
