    Hi Glammaw I'm fifty one years old so I tought I would reply. I lost my desire to walk and eat right. I was really struggling but got another fill- my 4th and now I'm losing weight again. Average of 2.3 the last 5 weeks. I just needed to refocus on what I was suppose to be doing. It seems to be in the exercise(all I do is walk each day), watching what you eat and tracking everything put in your mouth. Hope you keep on losing.

    Grocery list!

    Do you like Tuna or sardines? How about sugar free Fat Free puddings? Reduced Fat Cheeses? Salsa for on carrots or apple slices. pineapple juice for emer. PBs My baratric Coordinator said no nuts if by mistake you swallow some not as ground as smooth Peanut Butter or too sharp for the banded area the Dr. has to go and get them in the hospital. My nephew just started college this year at Tulane. So good luck
  5. Glammaw- For exercise what about a Seniors Center, or try a DVD on chair exercises. Please don't let your hubby get to you. Try to remember the week after surgery how you were motivated. And Go girl !!! I planned on 2 years to lose all my weight and I track everything of Fitday.com That adds the accountability factor for me.
  6. Glammaw I was so frustated 2 months ago, I wondered the same thing. Then I started logging everything I put in my mouth, exactly how much water, protein first, ect... I was just plain starving. I made an appt with the Dr. and low and below I have a 14CC band not 10cc. So he suggested another fill. I would call and talk to your nurse and ask her the size of your band and the amount of fluid in it. Maybe you just need another fill. My Dr insists on at least waiting every 8 weeks between fills, he says there is a less of risk of the band slipping and also corroding into you stomach. If he is still impossible to deal with, check for other Fill drs in your area. Hang in there, I think you are doing great so far.
  7. Hi all--Just wanted to let you know that re committing myself to the original plan of exercise, tracking meals, water, protein first has really paid off. 15 pounds in the last month. Please update my weight 229.4. In four more pounds I will be at 225. This is a milestone for me because the last time I was 225 pounds was the first day I realized I was overweight. I took my 9yr old granddaughter to an amusement ride and the operator wouldn't let me on because I was over 220 and would not let her on because she was too short. We both cried. I promised next year I would lose the weight and she would be tall enough. I kept gaining weight. I felt like I lied to her, because I kept gaining weight. We never got to go on ride. Now she is 22 with a baby of her own, but I'm still going to treat her to an amusement park when I get to goal. Strange the things that motivate us. Keep on losing all you sweet Notorious Novembers.

  10. Great Elyse you go girl. I've lost 6 pounds and holding. I know I need to up the exercise. I'm also going to talk to the baratric coodinator since I've been so loaded down with stress, and having to eat out so much. Hospitals are the worse place to find healthy food. My hubby's been in 5 times in the last 6 weeks and my mom 3 times. I also think that TV commerials featuring food should be banded. I want my less stressful life back soon.
  11. DD sorry to hear about your weekend. Remember even if we don't do all aspects of our new program perfectly, we can do what we can. Hopefully you will be back in the gym soon. After a car accident I iced my back about 20 minutes and then put on a sock filled with dry rice heated in the micorwave directly on the spinal column to relax the muscles. That worked better than all the meds the doctors gave me at the time. Glad you are back ukcatsfan. Keep up the good work. Ebony Rose enjoy your jogging, maybe some day soon for me too. Or do you stop running after 50? I think I'm still thinking as if I was 311. What would I do without all of your Notorious November encouragment.
  12. Okay Friends---How do you deal with this one. I live at the beach and everyone comes to visit in th summer. Not to go to the beach but eat at the "Calabashes" The all you can eat seafood buffets. I want to spend time with them and resolve not to eat the no no's but the dessert bar is killing me. How would some of you handle this?

  14. Hey DELIVERED and the rest of your recommits out there. How are you doing on your three item list? So, far I've done all three, since I started again. Are you ready for a laugh? I just ate spicy chicken and vegetables and it was so spicy, but I'm sitting hear with my mouth and lips burning instead of getting a drink. NO MORE CHEATING FOR THIS GIRL. And the added benefit is from 7/7/09 to today I've lost a whopping 6.2 Pounds. Wheeew!!!!!! Thank one and all for their recommit support. I'm waiting to hear all your good reports.:tongue_smilie:

  16. I'm back with the plan also. My three things are: 1.) No more slider foods 2.) No drinking with meals. 3.) Back to tracking my meals. How should we check in three times a week? Thanks for the added structure, it's just what I needed.:biggrin:

  21. Hi all you behaving and losing Notorious novembers. You are all doing so well. I need some motivation. I haven't lost or gained much since I was here May 12th. The Carb addiction has returned so I eat the junk and then I eat right. As soon as I get to the wall of 240 the junk food desire is back. Help !!! My restriction is about right, but I cheat and add liquid so I don't PB. There has been tons of stress, I'm planning on seeing a therpist to deal with the comfort food craving. My exercise is nil--the heat here is too much for me. Maybe just the thought of accountablity to all of you will help get me on track again. Any thoughts?? I'm so discouraged. Thanks your fluffy friend.

    Bandsters Nov 17-21

    Hi GLammaw- We are so happy you are back. I just got a fill to 8CC in a 10CC band, and was wondering if I was getting enough food. He said if I eat my Protein first the size of an egg 3 times a day and 1 Protein Drink with the vita-band Vitamins and 2 calcuims that is perfect. I resort to low fat sour cream between 1 teaspoon and 1 tablespoon with my protein when I'm real tight. I find that my allergies tighten my band as well as the weather. Call your doctor if you are concerned.
  25. I've had three fills. The first two were completely painless. The third was a double stick, and a little bit of pain. I prefer the fills without any more shots.
