I feel your pain; I actually had to go and have an emergency unfill today after not eating nor drinking since Friday night....He took out 4 CC's and did xrays.....I am sooooo MAD, Scared, and Nervous......Why 4 CC's...I go back in 4 weeks but heck I don't think I can wait that long.

My husband and I are stationed in Kansas and I got the referral for a consult to see a plastic surgeon about my stomach. I am being positive; if they have given me the authorization to go see one, then they may pay for it. I got the standard; consult plus 3 visits. I will probably need to lose more weight though. I have lost 70 pounds and in all honesty I don't want to lose any more. I am happy where I am.

Is there anyone who would honestly throw up all the time then go back to get an unfill? At one point I was too tight and I really did not want to go back to my doctor because I liked not being able to eat. Although I knew it was unhealthy, I wanted to stay that way. I did go back to get the unfill but I was really contemplating not doing it. I wanted to wait it out. Am I the only one who has had these feelings???????

Well I was just wondering if you have ever experienced your band tightening up weeks after a fill? On May 20, I had a fill done that put me at 7.5 CC's well once I started eating solids I couldn't keep anything down; not even water; I went in for an unfill of .5cc's and that helped me out; well after a few weeks I was still hungry and had no restriction; Went back to the dr. 3 weeks later and had a fill of about .25 cc's. Well for weeks I had some restriction but now about 6 weeks later my restriction has increased. I am also starting to have to slow down my drinking and eating more; I can't eat as much as I use too; Some things I can't eat at all. This is a good thing but I was just wondering if at times this happens or is there something wrong? I have an appointment on this Thursday for a fill but I feel like I have good restriction and will probably cancel b/c I don't think I need anymore.

I am having surgery on my foot on Friday and am wondering if I should get an unfill. I will be getting anesthesia(sp). My podiatrist said as long as I don't eat after midnight I should be fine. Has anyone had any type of surgery since getting banded and did you get an unfill?

Don't give up. I was denied my first time. I appealed and turned in all supplemental information I had and was approved. I will be here to help you. If you need help with writing your appeal letter let me know. What is your Tricare Region.

Has anyone with tricare been banded in one region and then moved to another region? How hard was it to get your referrals for your fills. I was banded under tricare south and now am in triwest. They denied my fills b/c my new doctor office did not send in all the necessary info about my surgery. I in return appealed and faxed in 32 pages of info(beginning with my preassessment). This should change b/c I am only needing to be under doctors care. What do you think?

I had to appeal my denial with tricare. The decision was made within 7 days of me mailing the letter and other information I submitted along with it. Tricare is now becoming strict with their approvals. If you meet the requirements then you should be fine. Just note the requirment you fall under.

Is there anybody with or at one point "too tight" and just rode it out? I see a lot of "Too Tight" questions and am wondering if anybody just decided to remain this way and wait for it to loosen up. If so, how long did it take to loosen up? I think I am too tight; I got a fill last Thursday and couldn't even keep Water down. Today was the first day I could drink an entire atkins shake very slowly and it remain. I was also able to finally eat about 1/4 c. of oatmeal later but very very slow. Since then, I haven't been able to eat nor drink. Not even water. I am wondering if I should call my doctor's office tomorrow. I have lost 8 pounds since Thursday. I was banded Jan 8. and had only lost 9 pounds until that point.

Thanks for the replies; I really hate this feeling; I want to eat but it's just not happening. I was given .75cc's that puts me at 7.75; I am hoping he will take out .25. I am going to call tomorrow.

Thanks to all who have replied thus far. I must admit that at first I think I was eating too big of a bite and eating too fast. Then I corrected those problems. I am evaluating everything I eat now and I am at the point where I am now scared when I eat (is there anybody else like this).

Well I had my 4th fill about a week ago; I am now at 6.5cc's in my 10cc band. Now when I eat fish and shrimp I get a stabbing sitting feeling in my chest. I try to burp but I can't instead it feels like the food is coming up. If any goes down in the stomach it hurts like "hell". The only way to relieve the pain is to just bring the food all up (you all know how that looks). MY QUESTION TO YOU IS: IS THIS RESTRICTION???? HAVE I NOW MADE IT????? CAN I NOW LOOK FORWARD TO LOSING WEIGHT? I had a lean cuisine today for lunc and I could only eat half.

Ok; just want to know: 2 weeks ago I got my 3rd fill; I am now at 5.2cc's in a 10cc band. I did not feel any different until about 2 days ago; I usually eat some sort of protein in the morning if I don't have a protein shake. NOW anytime after 2 or 3 pm; I am unable to eat meat without getting a hurting burning stabbing pain in my chest. I usually have to lay across the bed and try to breathe hard until the pain goes away. 1. Is that what stuck is? 2. Do any of you have problems eating at a certain time of a day? 3. After a fill; how long does it usually take to feel a difference? I am scheduled for my 4th fill under Fluro on this Thursday 3/11.

Thanks for the replies. So far I haven't expereinced the "slime" yet. My food usually goes down after a while. I guess I will definately know what it is when I see it. I go for another fill on Thursday but I can still eat, eat, eat. I hope I get some restriction this time. I am about to just give up; this is way harder than I expected.

I am not getting full after 4 ounces. I have tried to stop but then it is not fulling me up. I am hungry after about 3 hours but I try to do the right thing. I got my first fill 2/5 - 2.5cc's; 2nd fill 2/9-1.4cc's; But gosh darnit I am still hungry. Not to mention my hubby took me to the Cheesecake Factory this past weekend and I did the right thing by ordering one of their weight management salads. But I ate the entire salad and still was hungry; I ate some of the bread; then I just stopped b/c I knew it was wrong. But gosh on my way home; I ate 1/2 of the slice of cheesecake my husband took to go. HELP MEEEEEE; WHAT DO YOU THINK I NEED TO DO?

I am going for my 2nd fill tomorrow. I had my very first fill this past Friday 1/5/10. I have been starving trying to stay in the limits of the eating guidelines. I didn't want to call my dr. office so soon but I did and they told me to come in the morning for an adjustment. I was soooo happy b/c I am eating like every 2 hours. I eat wait an hour drink wait an hour eat, etc..... I have a 10cc band and the dr. put in 2.5cc's. My band was empty after surgery. I NEED SOME RESTRICTION B/C I AM STUCK AT 214; HAVE BEEN THERE FOR THE PAST 3 WEEKS.

Thanks for that bit of information. I will ask them about the erosion when I get there tomorrow. The docotor suggested the fill. I was calling to see if I could eat more food. They told me not to increase my food b/c they didn't want me to stretch my pouch.

Do the sugar free popsicles count towards water intake? I am having a hard time getting in all my water but I eat SF Popsicles all day...

I was just wondering if sugar free popsicles count towards our water intake. I can't get in all my water daily but I am constantly eating SF Pops...

did he give you an equivalent as to how much a popsicle would count for? I know I eat almost a box a day.

Have any of you ladies ever experienced pain under breast. I was banded on 1/8 and I get a pain under my left breast that seems to extend all the way to my back. I try to stretch but that does not seem to help. Its a cramping type pain. Maybe its my body trying to heal????? :w00t: Also, can someone please explain what restriction is? Thanks

I am still on the liquid diet that I was on pre-op; I can also do yogurt, sf jello, pudding. I don't see my doc until 1/25; then I think I should go to mushies; how is your diet? I am so ready to eat something. I am really hungry.
