Thanks for all the good wishes... I had co-pays at the appointments but none at the time of admission. And that was a good thing since I didn't have any money with me at the hospital:blushing: Out and walking daily, just have to be careful as the meds make me loopy//// I am off for a little cat nap! Hi Jay, Pre-op tests (did mine last Friday) were easy. A lot of questions. They did listen to my heart and lungs, felt my abdomen, etc. but nothing bad, minimal nakedness:tongue2:. Then got an EKG and bloods drawn. After all of it was done they sent me for my chest x-rays and I went home from there. She gave me a special soap to use 3 days pre-op which I started today. So surgery here I come...Wednesday. Jean

Anyone getting banded in January
jeanangell replied to Peanutband's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
Hi Jhope, I also am scheduled for the 28th. And have my times of nervousness too. I am having my surgery at Brighams and Women's hospital in Boston. What about you? -
Hello - I started in Sept but waited a month after that to make the appt. so that was the end of November. I have done all the other steps, approved today!!! and am scheduled for January 28th. I am being banded by Dr. Robinson and I agree with people who have said his assistant Jen is great and she made it easy to thru the steps. jean

Hello from Massachusetts!
jeanangell replied to skinnycow28's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
Hi All, My name is Jean and I am scheduled to have the band done at B&W with Dr. Robinson on Jan. 28th. Still pending approval (should hear any day). I hope to meet all of you next Tuesday at the group. I also have 100+ pounds to lose. I just started my pre-op diet:drool: -
Self-Fill are you doing this?
jeanangell replied to TQUAD64's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
Hope you are kidding as these bands can leak... and that could be deadly. -
How did you all deal with the doubt and yes, panic, prior to surgery. Finding myself having doubts, questioning myself... I know this is right but I guess I am just afraid.

Anyone have moments of panic before surgery?
jeanangell replied to twiggysmiff's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Hi, I was having one of those panic attacks right now... scheduled for banding on the 28th. I wanted to so much call and cancel. I came here to look for this conversation exactly. I know in my mind that this is the right thing to do but still start to freak out. I try to keep busy, but then I think I should try something else. I live alone so this usually happens of course when I am alone. Have had upset stomach and sick feeling and I know it is just stress but not sure what to do to stop freaking out... sorry for rambling. -
I will stay positiive !!! I keep saying I love your logo - hope you don't mind if I hijack it! Black for that little black dress coming soon.:tongue2: Red for the hot red lipstick and nail polish... And sparkles to enjoy the new year!! OK needless to say I like it and think it should be our group logo.

I have 2 weeks of pre-op diet. 2-3 shakes a day, small meal for lunch or dinner. Otherwise a few popsicles, jellos and clear broths. I have to start on the 14th. I am not going to start early because so many people talk about how hard it is, why make me crazy! From what I have heard. St. Vincents is really good too :cursing:
-
Just realized my surgery date was off - I will be happy when I am out a full year  Keep in touch!
-
Hi, Glad to hear some people are the end of the month. I am Jan 28 (tentatively pending tests). I have my psych appt :tongue_smilie:on Mon and then my doctor on Friday 1/9. I will schedule my preops at that time. I am having the surgery at Brighmans and Womens's hospital, how about you both... Not looking forward to preop diet... :cursing:

I'm Freaking Out; I'm Freaking Out; I'm Freaking Out; I'M FREAKING OUT!!!!
jeanangell replied to Oblong's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
I understand about the freaking out, my surgery is not until January 28th. I too watch the programs (that is in the past). I have battled weight since I was little, I have yo-yo'd 70 pounds up and down for years:frown:. So I guess I was good at dieting just bad at maintaining. This is not good for my health so I am looking forward to have the band as a tool to help me maintain. I used to belong to a marathon running club that has the motto - Maintain, Maintain, Maintain. I hope to use that as a guideline for life in the future. Nervous, scared a little - yes. Freaking out - no. Looking forward to a great future. Definitely.:cursing: Any time you see one of the weight loss shows... turn it over to CNN and grab your computer and talk to us. -
Best Xmas ever..W/ the band
jeanangell replied to bigpapa2's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
