    ****Sensitive Topic****

Well, ladies my husband thinks that I'm his new play toy...LOL! He ain't no good at all! I finally figured out what his game plan is: he get me all rowled up then watch me go for it...nasty I tell you and down right sneaky! Have fun lady's it ALL GOOD and getting better!
  3. Hi guys, We have been stationed in Arizona for 21 years (Luke AFB 7 year and Davis-Month AFB 14 years)! Yes, 21 years...that is partly why I found myself eating chocolate every chance I get. My family is in Alabama and in the begining feeling out of place and sick for home was overwhelming. Anyway, my banding date is set for 1/12/09 and I feel unprepared. What are some ideas on diet and Protein shakes when I get home from the hospital. Should I make a grocery list of broth and protein? (I have no understanding of what time of day to drink the protein or what type of protein to buy). Please help I am feeling all alone in Az:embaressed_smile: Tri-west is has truly been on top of things, the only hodl up I had was my Dr. was over booked for 5 weeks. Tri-care also assigned a patient care nurse to me that will be following my progress after surgery. In fact, he called me the day I was approved and reassured me that all would be well and if not he will be on top things to make sure the medical staff met all of my needs.
  4. You are doing okay, don't worry you have the rest of life to get this figured out. The bumps in the road are just that so, stop and regroup and tell your doctor what you are going through. I had the same problem and my doctor desided to removed all of the Fluid from my band and quess what? All of the fliud had already leaked out! All of this time we thought there were 5.5 cc's in my band and I just wasn't getting any restriction. Now I have 5 cc's in my band and I've never felt restriction like this ever. My surgery was 1/12/09 and I have only lost 24 lbs. my dr said I did it on my own. So now I've expeirenced getting something stuck for the first time and it was horrible...I haven't vomited in over 14 yrs. but the best part is that it was only fluid no chunks I think I would have fainted  LOL!
  5. :eek:Hi Amanda, I have 4cc total and I am worried about getting the next fill because I do have restriction but zero self control over hunger. I am eating the wrong things from time to time, I eat mostly peanuts and raisin as a snack but when i get home from work I am in snack heaven everything here is bad for me and I want it and feel guilty afterwards. Do u still get really hungry? Do u feel too tight?

    Motivational Secrets?

Hello to all of you wonderful bandsters. The purpose of this Blog is to request each of you to post what "you" believe to be you source of strength to: put your goals at the forefront of your life whether it is prayer, meditation, favorite quotes or inspiration from others, or support and advise from a person who has traveled down this same road. Whatever it is, please share your stories that may help us less focused constantly distracted and who lacks integrity when it comes to our own individual goals. I must say that for now my motivation stems from a fear of failure. I must give myself a far shake at making this work without self sabotaging the way I've done many times in the past. I also believe in preparation, I have adult ADD and I have to plan out everything ahead of time or nothing at all will get done. I have make a daily schedule or I WON’T go to bed on time, I say up too late and feel too tired to work out or leave the house without eating breakfast because I over slept. The list goes on and on for me. I'm can’t wait to read all the creative ideas that you all have and I know the information you post will help someone. Have a very Happy New Year! Thank you, Ann
  7. Hello! SOS! please count me in. I'm a Alabama girl suck in Arizona...no support here at all. I've never felt so seperated from people.
  8. Hi Michelle, how are things going for you?
  9. It's just nerves...please don't let anything I said change your mind (Please do it)

  10. YOU BETTER NOT BACK OUT!

Not hungry but need to eat?????

I have absolutely no appetite what so ever, I don’t even want to drink water. Any ideas why or what to do? Is anyone else experiencing this too? I was banded on Jan 12th. prehaps I'm just not able to identify what I'm feeling right now. Please comment...
  12. Welcome Newbie,

Ask me any questions you like I will answer you honestly and if I don't know the answer I will help you find it.

    Ann

  13. Don’t get too stressed out to be honest, you can still have the foods you love just a 1/4 of a serving is all it will take to satisfy you. Dr. M will not put anything in your band during surgery but you will still have minimal restriction just from having the band placed. So, don't expect to get full super fast just practice listening to your body and you'll know when to stop eating I promise. Ann

  14. No, I don't but I have a clerical job and there are times when I have get up and down to go over to the counter to help people with questions and I don't want to have to hold on to anything to get up nor do I want to hold my stomach which will draw questions on innocent concerns. I want to be able to work and know that I'm okay. Today I feel wonderful and I Monday I can go back to work on full blast and enjoy it. I also started back walking today on my treadmill and I feel good.

It is normal to want to eat everything you love and enjoy just do not over do it. Choose your last supper wisely...I chose Red Lobster and it wasn’t all that I hoped it would be. I should have gone to Long John Silver's instead. LOL!

  15. No I am not working yet, I'll go back on thw 25th. I took 2 weeks off and boy am I glad. Some people say they went back to work after taking a few days but, that in my opinion is not a good idea. I haven't had any complications and wounds look wonderful but this is a major surgery and don't let anyone tell you otherwise.

It was the best choice I've made for myself in a very long time. I had my first follow-up appointment today and Dr. M was very impressed with my incisions and my overall progress. He doesn't fill your band until the 2nd week out. He believes in allow your body to heal from surgery to give you every possible chance at being successful.

    When is your surgery?

Not hungry but need to eat?????

Thank you guys, I am sipping liquids to prevent dehydration. I don't feel sick I just don't want anything to eat. It's good to that this is a normal experience for some of us. I'm really learning a lot about my eating habits that I would have never identified before the surgery. Whatever pops into my head I go to the kitchen a get or I get into my car and go get it...Zero discipline and it has to change now. Ann Trying to figure things out....
  18. Hi Chris, My name is Ann and I'm addicted to Hersey’s plain chocolate...I will melt it to dip strawberries just for a daily snack. I will eat it on a train or in plane. But, I am committed to a healthier life style and will deal with my temptations as they come. Will I still eat strawberries and chocolate? You bet I will... on special occasions. Ann

Not hungry but need to eat?????

Thank you Lilly, I think you are right when my appetite comes back hide your lunch LOL! My husband said that I am subconsciously protesting because I don't want to be on the liquid diet part... Honestly there maybe a little truth to that. After 26 years he just may know me a little bit. Thanks again, Ann

All is well here! The gas isn't bad at all, and I will also say that your gain is from the IV fluids and you'll pee that all out by tomorrow. Rest well friends! 227/214/145
