My god I think you're right! Damn, I've been telling my husband all along that I really weigh 125 and the scale is just off by 75 pounds. Why doesn't he ever listen to me??? LOL -
Butchered Belly Button
mattie7632 replied to mattie7632's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Thanks so much! I'm no virgin to surgery so I was a bit alarmed this time as it looks so much worse than anything ever before. But what the hay, I'll just have my belly button done in time if needed! LOL, but first the face lift....... -
for those that have lost ALOT of weight, what are you going to do about the extra skin?
mattie7632 replied to grmadeb01's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
that was a much easier surgery. Had that done too (no not a surgery addict!) It was well worth it! -
Did your Dr have you stop meds......
mattie7632 replied to Southern Leo's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I take the same meds too, I open my capsule and dump the stuff in a spoon topped with liquid fish oil (lemon flavor) and I don't even taste it. It's just as effective as when I took the capsule before. I'm sure they're time released also. -
I hear ya! I ate real food (soft) for the first time tonight when we went out, and I got full really quickly. I was really surprised.

Butchered Belly Button

Thanks Fayfay! That makes me feel s little better, but still--there literally is a HOLE with a little bump on the side now, how in the world will that just get filled in? I'm getting the feeling that most people's buttons are just fine afterwards! -

Woops! Excuse my tard-ness. We need a post telling us stupid newbies to look at the buttons and links before asking about it again. LOL -
I lost my handouts of what I can eat for the 4 weeks post surgery. I remember this: Week 1-Clear liquids DONE Week 2 -Full liquids (but did not include foods, only Protein drinks) IN THE MIDDLE OF Week 3-??? Week 4-Introduce real food, but not fibrous veges or red meet, no Pasta, no breads Does anyone know what the week 3 diet should include? I know it involves some mushie foods, but not sure what the diet is actually called to google it and get more deets. THANKS

My First Pasta Experience
mattie7632 replied to blissa033's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
That's so odd. I heard that too and I don't understand what it is about pasta that would cause that. I have had some mac n cheese with my soft foods and been fine, as a matter of fact, nothing so far has bothered me in the least. Knock on wood -

If you are considering plastic surgery read this: 3 years ago I had a tummy tuck w/liposuction. That is a brutal invasive surgery (including lipo post op) and a tough recovery BUT thrilled with results. If you keep your weight off you will be happy for life. If not, your weight will redistribute to other parts of your abdomen first before repopulating where you had the tummy tuck. Strange I know. Also It is expensive -
Would this be ok on pur?ed diet?
mattie7632 replied to amber2604's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Well I'm not the doctor, but I just had my first "mush" meal, and I had scrambled eggs with bits of sausage in it. I'm completely fine. What I did notice, is that I got full much quicker than before! I'm not bragging yet though, bandsters hell is right outside my door....... -

Okay, I never thought of this before, but now that I can tell where my port is, (it kinda hurts randomly) I am envisioning a needle going in there and wondering a couple things. 1. Does it HURT???? 2. How does your doctor know exactly where to place the needle?? Is it like getting blood drawn and he might miss, sticking you over and over til he finds the right spot? I tend to get faint if I get stuck with needles when it hurts! Yikes. Thanks to anyone that can give me some idea what to expect. Disclaimer: I approve this question and if you don't like it because it's been asked before, don't reply. Thank you.

Me too, same thing. I've gained 2 pounds. Other posts have said that once we get our first fill we will have real "restriction" and then should start losing again.... -
Amber have you had a fill yet? Are you in the starving stage? ie normal appetite back? I'm 2 weeks post-op....
-
My doc gave me gas drops. I didn't use them though, don't know why. It will go away. Lasted about a week and a half for me.

Does getting a fill hurt?
mattie7632 replied to mattie7632's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Thanks everybody! I will definitely warn the doctors they might have to revive me! I also better be sure to have a full stomach so less chance of seeing stars. Right before surgery, the phlebotemist came over and took my blood .He wasn't very good so it hurt. Then they stuck me with the big fat IV needle, then gave me a shot in the stomach, all within about 2 minutes. Right about then I thought "Oh boy, I'm going down....." but they managed to keep me conscious. How I pray this doesn't happen to me with a fill!!! -

pre op diet - need advise asap pls
mattie7632 replied to jennyflower's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Hi there, obviously I'm not the doctor or dietician, but I do know that fruits and soups except broth are not in a "liver shrinking" diet. Removing all sugars and carbs shrinks the liver pretty quickly, which is why many people are put on clear liquids or same with the protein shakes for the pre-op diet. -
That's happening to me too, but I really think it is the weather. If any you have not tried Burt's Bees, give it a try, it's the best for dry skin!
