Hey I'm the first to admit I need to get off my a$$ more!!! LOL
-
Okay you're right everyone. Sorry for the offense. It was just being sarcastic, really. Admittedly, I've been quite the shit lately. I think it all started yesterday when I was driving happily through town to pick up some groceries when I saw a pick up truck so covered in mud it was barely visible, then realized it was my SON'S. I've been in rare form since then, oh yeah full moon this week too. Did I mention he is now buried in the trunk in the attic?

LOL! No, not really. But you gotta admit the board needs a little spicing up once in awhile Seriously, the same few attack posts regularly with "it's a tool" and "count calories" "eat less" "exercise more" ......when the poster surely wasn't looking to be scolded.

A friend of mine talked about how they use cabbage instead of Pasta for quite awhile before I finally tried it. When I did I was really surprised how good it is! It's much better than it sounds. Also it's really satisfying. About a cup or so cooked cabbage with whatever meat sauce and the calories are about same as a lean quisine. I cook a head of cabbage and a jar of sauce, add meat of choice, and it lasts me for a week of lunches or more. About the gas: Not that bad, really!!!!

Adjusting to living life with a band
mattie7632 replied to Trappedinafatbody's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Awww...good luck then! You CAN do it! You sound like you're in the comfort zone we all get to in relationships. I was a size 8 the day I got married, now 12 years later.....here I am on lapbandtalk.com for obvious reasons! You already know what you need to do, you don't need any of us telling you how to eat. What if you tried thinking that you are doing this for her? Obviously it's a personal thing and we lose weight for OURSELVES, but sometimes I think I should stay on track, because I think my husband would appreciate his skinny wife back. food for thought -
One of my chihuahua's is getting pretty tubby. He's just so stinking cute I can't resist giving him snacks!! Poor baby, I need to stop that

Unfill. What is the cost?
mattie7632 replied to JJLaw08's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
If filing a claim with insurance, technically the codes are the same whether fluid is inserted or removed, and lawfully the fees should not be different. HOWEVER This doesn't mean the individual doctor isn't offering some special pricing or billing as an office visit so the fee is lower. Basically you should ask the office for their policy and price for an unfill -
Did I seriously just get lifestyle advice about a freaking cabbage meal post!!!!! Hey newsflash people!!! Your unsolicited advice is not welcome to most of us!!! The poster will ASK for it if that's what is wanted! We're tired of reading this kind of crap. Also, another newsflash!!! If you are working so hard to lose weight, stop giving credit to the band!! Your freaking diet is why you're losing weight, not your "tool" you love to brag about!
-
I didn't say either way. Read above and you'll see this post was about the constant condescending remarks of some posters....The I-love-me or I-am-perfect toned replies to struggling bandsters. The remarks weren't made to me but they're all over this forum as of late. ....
-
Not exactly..... Though there are a few that seize every opportunity to scold the poster with I-am-perfect replies while throwing in the "it's a tool" BS.....It might be a tool but I sure ain't gonna buy a non-functional hammer either, right? ( I'm not saying anything positive or negative about the band in this post....)

OH CM, didn't anyone ever tell you that the band is just a stooge? LMBO
-
THANKS! Now THAT's my kind of cooking!
-
Yes it is very good! (spaghetti squash) I'm not the best cook so I botched the last one I baked by forgetting it was there for an extra hour or so Will definitely try again though.
-
Yum! Me too! But I have to be careful with the cheese
-
I experiment with sauces. I like the alfredo best. Basically I just cook up a little turkey sausage and lean beef, pour over the alfredo, simmer, and that's the sauce. It's really good. But as the resident dieticians noted above, the sauce has actual calories and your $20k restriction won't guarantee weight loss, so you might not want to eat this. Better stick to no-cal foods

ROFL!! Perhaps one day, I too, shall be at one with my "patsy"

Bingo!

Out of Network/Co Insurance HELP????
mattie7632 replied to LoriAnn81's topic in Insurance & Financing
Well most of the bills I see like this would leave you with no out of pocket! The lab and anesthesiologist, radiology and hospital are all subject to getting bills. They are probably all in network, but if not you could get a surprise bill. But my bet is you are okay. Nationally almost all facilities are contracted with standard BCBS PPO. Empire is not the typical BCBS. -
I completely agree with you. You have no idea. I completely get it that eating healthy, exercising, portion control, drinking Water, is all going to make a difference. DUH!!! But it shouldn't determine whether the band works or not works because if so, then guess what? The band isn't the reason you're losing weight!! When the band makes you have no desire to eat more than one slice of pizza instead of 3, then 'Id say it's working. If you have to force yourself to stop after 1 piece, then sorry, the band isn't working--you are. By you I mean bandsters, not you personally

Out of Network/Co Insurance HELP????
mattie7632 replied to LoriAnn81's topic in Insurance & Financing
The hospital has to file both insurance policies for you, you don't have a choice which policy to file with, it doesn't work that way unfortunately. The primary will pay it's 70% or whatever is covered leaving a patient balance. Then the claim will be submitted to your secondary insurance carrier who will come back and cover up to whatever percent they cover, normally. If the secondary covers both the hospital and doctor at 100% in network then you shouldn't have a patient balance. If the secondary covers at 90%, you could still have to pay that 10%. This is not a guarantee and it's in your best interest to call your 2nd insurance and ask if anything is excluded and what, if any, will be your share after both insurances have paid. -
HELP PLEASE Banded 3 weeks
mattie7632 replied to HungryMel's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I'm sure we all do it at times. It seems I'm only careful after I've learned the hard way with each specific food! Hang in there though, it's got to get better!!! -
Oh but Caley, don't you know the band is just a TOOL??? (Sarcastic)!

Lap Band or Realize Band - Why did you choose yours?
mattie7632 replied to slm2007's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
My doctor gave me the choice. He preferred the Realize Band and it has a smaller thinner port, so I went with that. -
I think mine will be my "patsy" LOL
-
Holy crap! You've lost 194 pounds!!!!!!!
