congrats Jason on passing the test. You have to work really hard to achieve those things. It seems like things are going good for everybody on here. Congrats to all. Surgery is less than a week away for me and I'm starting to get a little nervous. Not looking forward to liquids for 3 weeks. -

Donut Day Wt. Loss Challenge (June1st)
Crimson Tide replied to kaninag's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
I want to set my goal weight at 280. Can someone add it to the list? There is probably a way to do it without retyping everything i just don't know it. Let me know how to do it. Thanks. The reason i put such a big goal is because of the postop diet. Greg -

Congrats. Gena You'll do wonderful Greg -
Swishbc,I read in a post once about people being upset about loosing an average of 1 pound a week. They said to take 1 pound of fat and put it in a skillet and melt it and thats what a pound of fat looks like. Just imagine if we take that 100 pounds we've lost and melted it what that would look like. It's gonna take some time but it is gonna be so worth it. Keep up the good work and keep us posted on your journey. Greg

Pete, Sounds to me like this is one of those NSV (non-scale-victory) weeks. The clothes are getting bigger so you have lost inches. Like they said Probably water weight. Hope i do as well as you.

Forgal88, It is amazing the size of portions that some restaurants give. My wife has a hard time just eating an appatizer. She has a ID card stating she has had stomach surgery and needs to order off the kids menu. Does every doctor give their patients a card? If they do has anyone had problems using the card? We have never tried to use it. -

Grrrr so angry at myself!
Crimson Tide replied to AngelWithHorns's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Not banded yet but will be in 3 1/2 weeks. You are doing great. Lots of weight loss since january. Just a thought, have you checked your NSV's. Even though the scale hasn't moved you could be losing inches. They say 1 to 2 pounds a week average is normal. Everyone hits times that the scale don't move. Like guy said you are doing your part you just need the band to do its. Remember you didn't gain the weight in 1 day and you can't loose it in 1 either and 1 bad eating day is better than 365 bad eating days. Your avatar picture looks great and keep up the good work. Keep us posted on your progress. Greg -
congrats on being bumped up.

Wishing you the best. Having surgery the same day, I'm going to Tijuana Mexico for surgery. Keep us informed with your progress. Greg

That's a good question. What is the 64-60 Part. Is that the amount of protein needed daily? -

Congrats on the date. Your getting your band before i do. I get mine on April 6. You picked the right place on forum to write. Great support here. I haven't been given instructions yet on pre-op diet but i think i'll call Monday. I think i'm ok though because i've lost about 42 pounds since Thanksgiving. Best of Wishes Greg -

My insurance does cover it (when it wants to), so me and my wife decided to go to Tijuana Mexico and get it done. We are selfpay and cheaper in Mexico than in the U.S. She had hers done in November 2008 And mine will be done April 6 2009.

I read the Men's Forum and the Powder room. I learn things from both but i will admit the Powder Room is more entertaining. We could use some shaking up in here.
