  1. Happy 35th Birthday cxc422!

  2. It has been a long time. i was banded in December 2008. I was strict with my band rules and did very well. I started at 280 and got down to around 200 (not as low as I wanted, but I much better place). During that time I worked closely with my Dr. adjusting my band, and increased my physical activity. I thought I had this in the bag. Over the last year and a half I gained back so I am back up to 255. In the last year I moved to a new location and in May of this year I found a new local Dr. to work with. I had multiple tests to check out how my band was doing. After alot of nothing I had started having "issues" when I would go to bed at night. So the idea was to unfill, let it heal and restart. I continue to struggle with the fickleness of the band. Too tight, too loose. . . . . . I worked closely with my Dr. this summer, as well as a nutritionist. I learned that what I did in the first two years in order to loose the weight was not a long term solution, so I don't want to go back to that. My weight is not doing well. I have told my Dr. that I want to give the band another good try and make it work. But it is also driving me crazy. I am ready to start the discussion with him about other options. . . . is another surgery the solution, is emptying my band and trying this on my own without the band help the option, I just don't know what to do right now. I would love to hear from people who have had the band for a long time and have gone through struggles. People who have kept their band, people who have removed it, people who have moved to another surgery. Thanks so much!
  3. Happy 34th Birthday cxc422!

  4. Olive oil worked the best for me, needed to rub alot.
  5. Has anyone felt this? I am going through a bad head cold/ sinus infection. I have lost my sense of smell, and it seems with it most of taste. But I also seem to have lost my sense of restriction. I hope it comes back when I get better. (I am about 6 months out, and have been at my "sweet spot" for a month or so now) Sound familiar to anyone?
  6. Not doing so well, gained 3 lbs in the last week and a half since I had some fill taken out. I have an apt on 6/1 to get a little put back in.
  7. Better late than never? surgery date: 12/23/08 heighest weight: 285 preop diet starting weight: 280 (no preop diet) surgery weight: 269 lbs current weight: 195 lbs weight loss since surgery: 74lbs total weight loss: 85 lbs my end goal is to be: 140 lbs Goal for the rest of the month 5 lbs Workin with a band that is a bit to tight right now (not so bad it is a crisis). But due to how far away from the Dr I am and not being able to miss work (school teacher), can't get an unfill till 5/29.
  8. My question is for when we are on full solids. I am there but I have not had a fill yet, so I don't know the feeling of being full with small amounts right now. So I can't tell if Cereal with milk is ok. Does the milk make it slip right through the band, and act like we are drinking while eating? I am not talking about 1 cup of milk, I am talking 1/4 cup milk with 1/2 cup cereal. Tell me what you think. Thanks!
