Hi everyone! So I was banded in 2007. I had lost about 60 lbs and got pregnant (with about 50 lbs to go before reaching my goal weight) with my first baby! Pregnancy went fine, without a hitch. I never had my band unfilled, gained only 18 lbs during my entire pregnancy, had a healthy 8 1/2 lbs baby, who is doing great! I lost all my baby weight within the first month after having the baby, I am back to where I was before being pregnant, my baby is four months old now. Now, during the past four months, I have been experiencing this tightness with the band. It's gotten worst I think. I have been living on liquids and purees for the past two months, and I am not loosing ANY weight. I am sooooooo hungry most of the time, I am drinking my calories! I have really bad acid relux and wake up coughing acid at night if I even drink Water past 9 pm. ARGH!!!!! I am getting really frustrated, as I am unable to eat in front of people unless it is a Soup, or something like that. I think my coworkers are stating to wonder if I have an eating disorder but perhaps disregard the thought because I am NOT loosing any weight. Has anyone had this happened to them? If so, did it go away? I was fine pre-pregnancy and during my entire pregnancy, So I don't know what the problem is. Any idea what it might be and how I can make it go away?? I tried living on liquids for a while, but it is not working. Thanks! mdl

Just wanted to say that yes, the band is supposed to help make us feel fuller. I still have not found the "sweet spot", actually I have no restriction yet. However, I am trying to change my eating habits. I used to eat 4 "bad" unhealthy meals a day, now I eat 2-3.... I also joined weight watchers, and i am journaling to help me with my journey. Also, I am trying to exercise more. What can I tell you? We MUST keep trying! The band is only one of MANY elements we must change to be able to achieve optimal success! Do not focus on the band, try and change small things at a time. Do not get discourage! Some people are very critical but you must remember that to succeed we must go through the pains of change. For those of you who are feeling down for not loosing the weight, YET, Please do not blame yourself for what you have done. RIGHT NOW (this present moment) IS THE ONLY THING WE HAVE, WE CAN WORK ON THE POWER OF NOW!!!!!! Be conscious and aware of the present and start your day visualizing the best for you. Please start choosing Proteins and vegetables, EXERCISE helps alot to use your energy in a positive way. WE CAN DO THIS! WE CAN SUCCEED:clap2:

Hi Everybody! I am feeling soooooooooo frustrated! I have gained back all the weight I has lost after my surgery. I had my surgery 11 weeks ago, I lost 15 pounds during the liquid face and maintained it off during part of the solid face. The last four weeks have been extremely difficult. I had my first filling on 4/27/06, and felt no difference. Basically I can eat the same food portions as before. I know people tell me I shouldn't eat, that I NEED to change my lifestyle and that the lap-band is just a "tool". I know!!! But I am an all or nothing kind of person, it's a mind trick I have to constantly play on my self! When I had some restriction I was making better food choices, but now I am back to ground zero! I don't know what to do! I have scheduled my second fill for 5/10/06, which is short of four weeks after my first filling, but I don't know what else to do. I need to start feeling some restriction. I am wondering if this was worth it. Any adivise will be greatly appreciated. MO

Hi All, I experienced a lot of gas after being banded... it was horrible and painful. I do have to say that I noticed spicy foods, milk, and letting myself get hungry were usually the times when gas began to get crazy. I had to get rid of some things... For example spicy foods and milk products, things I had no problems with before the band. But you have to remember, even though it is not bypass... It is still a HUGE change on your body... I also went and had a cholonic... I hope you know what that is because I would hate to describe it.. Anyways, I swear by it! It worked beautifully! I went from having a ton of gas, to no gas at all!!! Hope that helps! mdl
