  3. I'm suppose to still be on a liquid diet but cannot tolerate the taste of slim fast. I have been eating watered down oatmeal and skim milk mashed potatoes (Liquid practically). Does anyone think this is to soon?
  4. I had surgery on April 03 and took off work on the 6th. I teach so I thought I would be ok to go to school on Tuesday but I had to end up leaving the last period of the day , so I took off 2 more days. I also had a hernia repaied or removed and I'm sorer than i thought that I would be. These 2 extra days at home has paid off. I haven't taken my pain meds since Tue. Give yourself a week.

    post op shoulder pain

I just had surgery on April 03, 2009 and my left shoulder has hurt since I woke up from the surgery. It comes and goes but when it comes I can barely stand it. I've had trouble with my left shoulder before so I'm contributing the pain to damagef nerves and gas.

    Texarkana Bandsters

Hi, I'm suppose to be banded on 4-3-09. I'm really having a hard time with the protein drink. I'm using Dr. Kelin but this drink makes me ill. I can handle the slim-fast. Does anyone know if there's something else that is closer to a slim fast that can be used for the protein drinK?:crying:
  7. I cannot stand to drink my protein drink which is made by baratric advantage and is vanillia flavor. I have added extra vanilla extract and cherry extract. I need a protein drink that is like a slim-fast. Does anyone know of one that I could tolerate. I think it's the consistency of the shake. I'm mixing 2 scoops with 8 ounces of water. Please let me know of something that I can purchase at a drug store, wal-mart, wal-green etc. I am scheduled for surgery on 4-3-09 and have to drink one of these shakes each day.

    Surgery scheduled March 29th

Hi! I'm scheduled for surgery on April 03, in Texarkana, tx with Dr.Kelin. I'm really excited because I've been trying to have the surgery for 9 months but this pre-op diet is killing me. I'm only on day 2 and I'm at some friends house who have cooked fish and I automaticallly reach in the plate for a piece and have it eat before I even realize I'm not suppose to do this. Habits are hard to break!

    Highmark BCBS of PA

I hate to disappoint you but I filed in July with this insurance company and they turned me down because I didn't have the 6 months of a dr visit with a supervised diet. I had 9 months of weight watchers with a loss but they still wanted the dr visits. Well Jan 05 I met my 6 visits and my case is in review again but it's not going to matter because my husband was laid off from his job on Jan 16 and I now have no insurance because of the union contract with the company. I'm still curious to see why they deny me this time.

    Hello Again

Hello, I'm actually not new to the lapband site but I kept having trouble getting on as ws467 my first user name when I started using the site in June 2008. here is my story and it is pretty depressing or maybe I just feel sorry for myself. I started out by attending a lapband seminar in early June, everything looked real promising. I had 2 sleep test and was prescribed a cpap machine, a nutrional visit, psy visit and 9 months of weight watchers and 5 years of regular medical yearly visits, all the cp morbidities and BMI of 49. This wasn't good enough for my insurance company-highmark blue cross blue shield of pa, they wanted 6 visits with a dr for a supervised diet. The surgeons office filed my claim in late July and I received this upsetting news on Aug 30, 2008. I had already started seeing the dr who done my sleep test and Jan 5,2009 ended my last visit. I also found out that I'm a border line diabetic and have thyroid problems. I rushed my own records across town to the surgeons office so they could send it back in because I was in a hurry learning in December that my husband was going to be laid off and would loose his insurance the day that he was laid off which was Jan 16, 2009. Guess what the medical review board began looking at my case again on Jan 12. As of today I'm not insured but Thanks to the good lord I have a job where I can get on their insurance which is active care 2 (BCBS of Tx)thru trs. If you know what this insurance requires please let me know. Itruly believe that I have every kind of a document that any insurance company could want and I plan on filing with this new insurance whenever I get signed up. Wish me the best and I hope everyone out there who is trying to get the lapband is successful. watermelon_1, which is what I feel like since I haven;t lost any weight in 6 months.
