Anyone have moments of panic before surgery?
kangajlynne replied to twiggysmiff's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I cried like a baby before my surgery. All the way there, I prayed the rosary. It was the scariest thing I had ever done. But you know what? The fear was in my head. This was the best decision I have ever made. I'm 3 weeks post op and down 24lbs if you total my wieght loss from pre-op diet and post. 1 more pound I break 200! I am so happy with my decision. I think the fear/ panick is pretty normal. Just stick with it. I know it was worth it for me. -
I had my first fill today and my Dr. put in 3cc's. My stomach is pretty sore but the fill itself didn't hurt. Is this normal?

Ate a burger two days after surgery
kangajlynne replied to tripi's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I am so sick of people that make it sound like slippage is common. Its not. According to my surgeon, realize.com, and lapband.com the rate of slippage is between 3 and 4%. I had my first fill today and asked about it extensively. My surgeon said "you will know if you have slippage, its very very painful and you won't be able to digest anything. Quit worrying." Is it a good idea to eat a burger? no. duh. but we all make mistakes during bandster hell. I myself fell of the wagon thanks to some Pepperidge Farm Summer Sausage. It sucks. NOT you. Just pick yourself up and get back on the program (if for no other reason than to lose a few extra pounds this month). -
Dr. Jay did my surgery on 12/18. He was very nice and is very well respected in my area.

I tried to have some Champagne at new years but it made me really sick after just a few sips. I don't think my body can tolerate carbination anymore so I'm just going to stay away.

Heated and Moisturized Gas into stomach?
kangajlynne replied to twiggysmiff's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I was "deflated" after surgery and really didn't have all that much gas. My gas was minor but gasX didn't help at all. I used MOM to get my system going and that helped a lot. -
Starting the holiday detox early, anyone wanna join me?

I am in! I am at 203 and what a great way to start the New Year under 200! I want to leave the 2s in 2008. I'm going to start tomorrow. What an excellent idea! -
New here...banded on 12/23 and have some questions!
kangajlynne replied to amberd910's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I was banded on 12/18 and what really helped me was Milk of Magnesia...my Dr. sugested it. I had horrible nausuea, but the suppositories (ick) really helped. I too, had pain sleeping b/c of the port but a pillow there really helped. Most of those issues have gone away now, so there's hope! You will feel better! -
I have never heard anything about birth control. I was not on it before, nor will I take it after. My surgeon never mentioned it to me. I don't think its mandatory...I'm Catholic and wouldn't have had the surgery if it was.

Pouch stretch or band slippage
kangajlynne replied to KTATOM's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I'm glad I found this question thread. I was banded 12/18 and have been very good on my liquid diet until today when I blew it! I couldn't resist some summer sausage and am feeling really, really, really full. I hope I haven't screwed my band up. I feel a little bit of pain but am more worried than anything else. Can you tell if you have slippage? Thanks, Jennifer
