how are u doing now?? im pretty much back to normal...i really dont have restriction..."i dont think", but i have been getting full on about 6oz of food that i have been eating....i think its more of a mind thing....my port pain is almost all gone...i can bend over and stuff for the most part but when i sneeze boy does it get irritated...but anyways ive only lost 7lbs but its better than nothing..im just ready for the real restriction so i won't be as hungry i have been pre and post band....let me know how ur doin!

You look wonderful dear!! It was a suprise to see such a young person be brave enough to get the surgery...go u girl..and i see it really paid off!!! Now u can enjoy the rest of ur teen years...and on to the 20's without having to worry about weight!!! congrats lady!

hi there i see that dr marsden was u surgeon also....i just got banded by him on 6/19.....i dont have any restriction right now of course b.c of no fill, but i just hope and pray me and this band can work together!!!! congrats on ur weightloss 87lbs would be a dream come true for me!!

Wow restless!! that was a perfect breakdown.....u made sound totally sensible.. i just got banded last friday and i am hungry already....i know its b/c i dont have any fluids, but what i would like to know is should i start eating as if i have restriction even w/o the Fluid? b/c without fluid i didnt really think i had a pouch...i thought the pouch was created once the band became tightened for a pouch to actually form...my recovery has been pretty good and seems like my stomach didnt even get tampered with....its seems like the only thing effected by the surgery was the incisions and port site which is of course tender.....but i cant even feel the band and when i inhale i dont have any pain....i saw a pic of the band inside of me and it doesnt even look right...likes its not even really on my stomach...it looks as if its on a pole of yellow fat...!

its probably in hurst where my surgeon is located...at the surgery center of ft. worth.../true results...but yea i look it up on the fillcenters website the guy provided to u earlier....

thanks for the compliment...well i just had surgery on the 19th and im still in pain so right now quite naturally im asking myself if this is worth the pain im goin through now...but im sure this will all be over with..i just cant wait to go back to my normal functions in a comfortable way!

its gettin a lil bit better as the days go by just port pain and gassy now....so its still a little struggle getting up and down...

this is one heck of an experience...especially since i was a virgin to completely everything that has to do with surgery....having an IV, being put to sleep, being cut enough to where tools are able to insert my body, and all the medication i was prescribed...this is even my first time taking hydrocodone too...! Well this port pain is no joke.....and the gas...is there and it is bothering me but not as bad as the port, but with both of those mixed together i have been kinda loosing my mind b/c the gas is still in my abdominal area....my throat feels dry as cotton, and b/c im too chicken to make myself cough out the gew stuck in my throat from the barium swallow and the snot created from sitting under the cold air, which that always has promoted mucus and cold like symptoms for me as long as i can remember. My headache is annoying too...does anyone know if i can take aspirin??? my incisions seem to be ok, they are stll all taped and bandaged up..the only spots with with the most blood that i can tell was gushing out was the port site, and the incisions are pretty close together.... Now i dont know if this is b/c my mouth is so dry but im craving for something to moisten my mouth so i tend to be hungry...not like i wanna a big burger and fries...but like i would be satisfied with something soupy with flavor....is it bad for me to be hungry the first day out?? The only thing i ate was a little thing of sugar free black cherry flavored Jello....now im kinda craving a protien shake...but dumb me forgot to bring milk over here to my mom's so ill have to send her for that asap because im hungry/mostly parched!!! A far as my experience at the surgery center...they weren't lying when they say this is an outpatient procedure b/c i got there around 6:30 this morning and i was out of the surgery center and on the road at like 9:30ish the staff were in such rush...i didnt even get to talk to my surgeon after the procedure b/c he was already on body # 2...for the day..I have no idea what size band i have but i do know its the LAP BAND AP... Oh the one thing i did get was the pictures of the band inside of me...and geez louise my stomach is surrounded in fat..the band looks like its just wrapped around fat...i was kinda worried wondering to myself if the DOC actually placed it in the correct place b/c there is nothing but yellow fat and then the band around it..do yall know if thats normal?? I saw a pic of my liver and it looks all healthy...(from what i saw) i didnt see any fat around it or anything... I have come to the conclusion that since i put myself through all this just to loose weight, i better stick to this plan b/c this change is serious....I would be a fool to completely disobey the rules and try to fight the band instead of having it work for me.... I appreciate your time in reading my post....please feel free to let me know ur opinions and tips of what i have been experiencing to give me other outlooks on things... Thanks again! -

its seems like me and you are going through the same exact things....im also hungry too...very hungry....i can eat normally but with will power i havent been eating normal foods i have just been doing the liquids....im still suffering with port pain...but not as bad as day one..and im still gassy...all the gas seems to still be in my tummy...its like i can feel it boiling inside of me or something...but yea ur not alone on the hungry part.... -

well dear it seems like me and you are going through the same thing...except i didnt have any hernia's or fatty liver.....my doc actually took a pic of my liver to show me how shockingly healthy and small it was...but yes im experiencing the horrible gas pains and the port/incision pain.....i have to prepare myself mentally to get up and take the pain of my abdomen muscles working in order for me to get up off the couch, out the bed..etc.and i almost had to sneeze this morning..but i kept it from coming out..b/c i didnt even want to feel that pain....!!! im going through my regret phase of getting the band b/c of all this pain im goin through..which i will admit it has gotten better since day and and 2 but i just want my energy back...i have never been without it...!! i guess this is a lesson learned that when i do get my energy back i need to be as active as possible b/c energy is a valuable thing....im learning that with this experience... I am actually hungry i know some people say they dont have an appetite for atleast a week, but hell i was hungry on day one...but as i said earlier i was extremely parched and i hadn't eaten anything since 1pm the day before the surgery....i've basically been eating Jello, sugar free popsicles, beef broth, and protien shakes...im glad im not going back in t wrk until th 29th...b/c i dont know how some people were able to go back after 3 days or so...but i will continue to keep u posted on my recovery...thanks again everyone for your words of encouragement... -
well cherri i wish i can say the same as you, but im full of gas..and the port pain/incision of the port is very tender and im not taking it too well....the first two days i was extremely dizzy but i believe that was from the hydrocodne..so i backed off of that medicine to see if that made a difference and it did....my port site/incision was gushing with blood like 2 hours after i left the hospital....but my mom just changed the bandages and cleaned it up with peroxide...thats what my surgeon told me to do as a first option...so far no more blood gushing....but other than that i guess im ok...but i still feel weak..i hve never been cut on or had any type of surgery so i guess im just actin like a big baby b/c this is my first time for everything...and b/c im not good at taking any pain.

Well the poert incision is gushing out with blood so im going to have to change the bandage myself..well my mom will help me...but its soaked in blood and even leaking out of the bandage...im so frustrated......i still feel like crap....dizzy and gas seems to only be sitting in my stomach..which makes my port pain even worse.....excuse my french but i just want to fart all this mess out of me!!!!!! i try walkin but im soo dizzy...may from the codone....i sit up as much as i can but thats gets painful too...ahhhh im about to just try to go to sleep again so i dont have to feel this pain...thanks everyone for ur words of encouragement....! -
I am to report to the surgery center at 6:30am tomorrow also...im very anxious, nervous, and really just speechless....i can't believe this is happening...!!!! if 6 months went this fast from the day i decided to inquire about the band from actually going under surgery......i can only imagine what 6 months from tomorrow will be like on 12/19/09....hopefully ill be down a good amt and be more active than ever!! Good luck and Bless us all june 19th bandsters!!!!!

My surgery is this friday on the 19th also and i am taking 8 days off b/c for one this is my first surgery.....and i do indeed have a desk job but with the mental stress that it puts me through....i want to be physically good enough to have an easier cope with the mental stress i go through with my job...i love it but with the mortgage industry the way it is right now....im under alot of pressure all the time. I also want to make sure my new relationship with food is carefully attended to before i just go out in the open...i dont want to be barfin up stuff at my desk in front of everyone...My goal is to be up and walking around by day 2..... -

my insurance is 90/10, my out of pocket expenses were 245.00 to the surgeon...and 1450.00 to the surgery center where im having the procedure done...so almost 1700.00...
