I've turned a corner, have you??

We have the same band date! I plateaued in Sept. I've been staying between 145-148. Finally, two weeks ago the scales started moving again! I was at my lowest this morning (142.2). I have 7.2 pounds to go to be at my goal! I'd been staying at the same intake on calories and decided to play around with it to see if I could get the scales moving. I had to increase my intake and then lower it to shake my body up some and get the scales to moving. I guess I was just in a rut! Congrats on your success!

    7 months post-op updates

I saw my doctor yesterday and had my second fill. The first fill was four weeks ago and he put in 2cc. Yesterday, he gave me 1 1/2 cc more, so I have 3 1/2 cc in my band now. I've lost over 76 pounds and have about 17 more to go to reach my goal.
  3. Banded 12/19/08. I've lost 65 pounds as of this morning. No fills yet. I have to admit, I haven't been exercising, but I know I need to start. Other than that, I've been doing exactly what I'm supposed to do and feel great.
  4. I was banded 12/19/08. I haven't had a fill yet. As of this morning, I've lost 65 pounds.
  5. Thanks! The 10's are tight, but I was quite excited to get into them. My goal is to be a 6. I have about 33 more pounds and I'm thinking I should be there.
  6. I was banded 12/19, and so far so good! No fills yet. I started out in a size 20/22 and this week I was able to squeeze into a 10! That was pretty exciting for me!

    1st Fill -When?

I had my surgery in December and still haven't had a fill. My doctor said as long as I'm losing an average of 1 pound a week, he won't do a fill.

    December 09 bandsters checking in

So far, so good here. I still haven't had a fill. I go back to the doctor next week (3/31). It will have been 6 wks since my last appt. and I've already lost 11 pounds since then, so I doubt I'll get a fill this time. At this point, I can eat anything I want without a problem and I'm still not getting too hungry between meals. I don't know how much longer this will last though. All in all, I'm happy with my band and my progress!
  9. Add me to this list!!! I've always been very cold natured, but now it's almost unbearable! I absolutely can't get warm. My husband keeps telling me nobody should be as cold as I am. I'm walking around the house with a jacket and a blanket around by body, socks on my feet, long pj's to bed, etc! Glad to know it's not just me!

    December Bandsters

16 pounds gone is sooo much better than 16 gained, or even staying the same! I've followed everything to a T and in the process I've learned alot about myself. I don't think it's so much what I was eating or how much I was eating as it was WHEN I was eating. I eat out of boredom, frustration, and stress. Since being banded, I have totally cut it out, but it has been HARD!!! This entire journey has been a learning experience for me. I'm no where near being finished, but I do feel a little wiser!
  11. I was terrified to move to solid food!! It was a full six weeks after surgery before my dr. let me start on solids. The first thing I ate was a scrambled egg. I also ate alot of fish those first few days. I will have been banded 3 months on Thursday. I haven't had a problem eating anything. Of course I haven't had a fill yet either. I take small bites and chew each bite 25 times. As long as you do this, you should be fine.
  12. Wow, I wasn't allowed to move to solid food for 6wks! Just be careful because your body needs to heal.

    December Bandsters

Just popping by to check in with the other December Bandsters! I do have a question. I still haven't had a fill yet. Anybody else? I go back to the doctor in a little over 2 weeks (3/31), so I guess we'll see what he says. I feel like I'm doing okay. I don't get too hungry and I'm keeping my calories between 700-800 a day. I do have some trouble getting all my protein in (50-60g daily) and some days I have to eat a protein bar to boost it up. Any tips on this?

    December Bandsters

I was banded Dec. 19. I saw my doctor today (3rd post-op visit) and still no fill. I'm really okay with it. I'm eating between 700-800 calories a day and I'm not getting too hungry between meals. As of this morning, I've lost 41.6 pounds. 14.8 of that was on the 10 day pre-op diet. I've got 52.2 more pounds to go, so I'm almost half way there! How do I edit my ticker?? Never mind. I figured it out!
  15. I was banded on December 19 and haven't gotten a fill yet. I saw my doctor on Tuesday and thought I'd get a fill then, but I'd lost almost 12 pounds in the 4 weeks since I'd seen him, so he wouldn't give me fill. He told me some of his patients go 4-6 months before their first fill. I've lost 36.2 pounds so far. 14.8 was on the 10 day pre-op diet. My surgery was 6 weeks ago today, so I'm pretty pleased with the progress I'm making.
  16. Oh yeah, I do trust him. I'm actually glad he's not too aggressive. I just keep reading about bandster hell, and I DON'T want it to get that bad for me! It hasn't been bad at all so far. I just hope the next three weeks go as smoothly.
  17. Just got back from seeing my dr. I was banded 12/19 and as of this morning, I've lost 35pounds (15 on the pre-op diet, 20 since surgery). I have 60 more pounds to go! I'd lost almost 12 pounds since I saw my dr. 4 weeks ago. He seemed pretty pleased with my progress, but said no fill! He is NOT aggessive with fills and told me some of his patients go 4-6months without a fill. I've just started getting hungry the last week or so, but I've been on purees and liquids. He did tell me today I could move to regular food--:cursing: I'll see him again in 3wks and I guess we'll see if I get a fill then.
  18. I was wondering the same thing! I see my doctor on Tuesday (1/27) and he said we'd "talk" about getting a fill then. He also said he would not be aggressive with the fills. I was banded on Dec. 19 and up until this past week, I haven't really been hungry. I am just starting to get a little hungry now, but it's not too bad. I'm hoping if I get the fill it will be enough to curb what little hunger I've had.

    Dec 19 band date

I actually just found this thread today! I was also banded on Dec. 19. I'm doing pretty good. I go back to my doctor on Jan. 27 and he said we'd talk about getting a fill then. As of this morning, I've lost 30.2 pounds, but 14.8 of that was on the pre-op diet. I have 63 more pounds to go! I'm still on pureed foods but I'm hoping my doctor will move me on to solids when I see him. I haven't been too hungry yet. I just hope it doesn't get bad before my appt.!
  20. I feel EXACTLY the same way!! I was banded three weeks ago yesterday. My doctor moved me to pureed foods on Jan. 2. I've been eating a four ounce jar of baby food for lunch everyday and a protein shake for supper (no breakfast). I have to stay on pureed foods until my next appt. (Jan. 27). My doctor said we would talk about getting a fill that day. I know he won't move me to solid foods until I've had my band exactly six weeks (Jan. 30). That's still three weeks away and I find myself panicking everytime I think about it!! I wish I had some words of wisdom to make you feel better, but I don't. I can just tell you, you're not alone!!
  21. I was banded 12/19 and have lost 27 pounds so far. I've had people to tell me they can notice it in my face, but I haven't been able to tell anywhere yet. I FINALLY noticed it myself today, but it was in my wrist! My watch has always been snug. I was driving home today and my watch felt really weird. I thought maybe it had come unhooked. I glanced down and it had slid around my wrist! Never has it been able to do that before! So, a weird place to finally notice it, but I was quite thrilled!

    December Bandsters

I was banded 12/19. As of this morning, I've lost 27 pounds total. 15 on the pre-op diet and 12 since I was banded.:tongue2: So far, I haven't really had a problem with being hungry. I don't know how much longer that will last though. I go back to the dr. on 1/27 and he said we'd *talk* about getting a fill then. I started on pureed foods Friday. The first thing I tried was a can of chicken, boiled egg, and tablespoon of fat free mayo. I wanted chicken salad. I only ate 4oz., but my stomach hurt after I ate it. It was like a sharp pain where my port is. It wasn't horribly bad, but noticeable. I'm wondering if the chicken was too much to start out with? It freaked me out, so I went back to my protein shakes and also bought some baby food. I'm not hungry at all in the morning, so I have a 4oz jar of baby food at lunch (today was turkey and rice) and then a protein shake for supper. I also had a sugar fee caramel pudding tonight. I was only getting 150-250 calories a day and I'm trying to increase that to about 500. I didn't make it today, but I'm getting better. I think this Friday I'll try the pureed foods again, but start with something a little easier than canned chicken!

    Constipation?

My doctor told me I could take whatever I took before I was banded. I specifically asked about Colace and he said it was fine. I was banded Dec. 19, and took the Colace for the first time yesterday. I got the liquid gels and had no problem with them.
  24. I was banded Dec. 19. I saw my dr Monday (Dec. 30) and he said everything looked great and to come back in four weeks (Jan 27). He said I *might* be able to get my first fill then. That would put me three days shy of 6 weeks.
