Thanks Riley , you are funny! I think my body has adjusted to the 1/4 cup for a while and probably needing to adjust. I've only cheated once and it hurt so bad that I refrained from temptations LOL. I called her earlier today.

OMG, you all look so good! I would have loved to be there. Next time. Well I can't wait to get my fill in two weeks, because my stomach is growling more and I have hit a major plateau. Any ideas as to how to break it? Chris, Riley, Nicole, Candra looking good Divas!!!

Tamra all will be well. The process goes by faster than it appears.Girl enjoy all that you can now!! :-). Hi Ladies, I hope your fill appt goes well today. I wish I had the Dr.Baggs this way I could have gone with you all.

Girl, You can do it. I started at 337+,I lost 37lbs before surgery and I am currently at 274 only five weeks post op. When you go to the orientation, they will give you a pre-op diet to follow, let that be you tool. The program works, some of us had to doc it up a bit. I personally don't do well with carbs at all and so eating less of the carbs helped a lot and the weight loss was quicker. It is a four hour class and be there ontime. You'll get a lot of information and will have many questions after. We will be here to help get them answered. If you want to get in earlier I would call Richmond and ask if you can attend the earlier orientation. That's what I did.

Tina, Girl friend you are hillarious with your carb research good info. I hope you are doing fine along with the rest of the team.

Hi Tamra, Welcome to the group. Yes you have to lose at least 10% of your current body weight. Don't diet until your orientation. When is it? You can lose weight, the band for most part is only a tool to help you get to your desired weight , don't be fooled even with the band you have to work at it (right Ladies?). The good new is that we have a wonderful support team here and we are all in the same boat. :blushing: Cheers, Reggie

Thanks Ladies for you suggestions, Chris which brand of stool softener did you use? Chris- I hope you enjoy your weekend in SF. Candy- My next fill is July 6th with Dr.Park. I can't wait. I hope she gives me enough, she seems to be pretty conservative :-). Hope you all have a great weekend!

Candy, you are normal. I haven't eaten badly lately because I'm still loosing but I cheat on protein sometimes. Tina- Happy Belated Birthday!!!! Ok Ladies what did you take for constipation. I'm in my fourth week please help I have a headache  seriously. I have MOM should I take it. I don't have metamucil.

Candra, He watches me like a hawk. Some men are like kids, you need to reassure him that this about your health then vanity. I had to read my husband the riot act the day before my case manager meeting because he accused me of talking to a male friend from high school. That put a stop to the foolishness. It will all be well once they realize that we are not going to be fat wives forever:-). Candra you are so close to goal, I say work on getting under 205 and get your surgery date. You actually lost 8lbs between the time that you saw the surgeon and your psych appointment, girl you've got this !!!!!!! Go on!

Congratulations Riley for reaching "onederland" It must feel good. I hope all you girls are well. Sheena don't feel bad the scale will start moving I have been at 276 for the past week and half. I'm on stage IV now so I hope it will start moving.

Candra, I say to hell with what your husband thinks about WLS. Please remind him that WLS is a tool and that you ARENOT going to automatically drop all your weight in an instant without work. The surgery process alone takes a lot of determination and self control. Some men get intimidated when their wives lose weight for the fear that someone may admire them. I got that from my husband, even though he was totally supportive he still reaked of jealousy lol. Girl get your weightloss on and DONOT be discouraged. We are here to support you all the way. Keep up the good work and get your surgery done. You won't regret it. Reggie

Astera, you are welcome! If you are doing protein shakes I would definitely limit it to 1/4 cup. The 1/4 cup I swear by. my doctor does not allow protein shakes. What i did was I blended clam chowder soup. It actually tasted good for a week or so and I was done with it lol. I hate mushies but unfortunately I have to follow the plan. When i get full I feel pains in my shoulder and that's the sign for me to quit. Best wishes Heather!

Hi Candy, Good to see you on! I hope things get better for you at work. Ladies, I hope you enjoyed your lunch!!! I hope to make it next time.

Hi Ladies, I hope all is well with you all. I won't be able to make it tomorrow but will be there in spirit :-). I have several meetings tomorrow. So i need major help. I cheated for the first time post op. I was able to the sausage and cheese off a combination pizza and when I got home my husband fried some plantains( Large bananas) I had 4 tiny pieces and my band did not budge. I haven't pushed t to the limit yet and today was the first. It's almost the time of the moth and 'm thinking may be the reason for this head hunger fiasco. i hope the scale have mercy on me:eek:.
-
Hi Linsay, Yes I felt like I could eat a whole cup of food, however the truth is your system can only take the 1/4cup. I know it is tough to drink liquids and eat mushies. I pureed Clam Chowder ready to eat soup for two weeks. I tried to avid the high carb foods. As I told Astera, follow the plan my dear, you made the right choice. I went through the same head hunger deal and questioned my decision but as of today, I will do it all over again.

Hi Astera, I was banded 5/20/09. I feel your pain about the gas ad the rumbling pain. I must tell you that it does get better over time walk, sip you fluids and rest. Walking helps decrease the gas pains. Forget about Gas-X it made e rather sick. Try to follow you plan to the T. It works. Use your spirometer as often as you can. I wish you the best. Cheers, Regina
