Hi everyone. I have my surgery date for 11/22. I'm a bit nervouse since i'll be doing it on the week of Thanksgiving but i'm ready. I've been wanting to get banded since last year. I changed my mind and decided to give myself a year of working out and dieting. I did lose 25lbs but it's starting to come back. I have struggled with weight all my life. Finally i decided to do it. Im super excited and nervouse all at the same time.

Hello i'm 26yrs old 202lbs and i've been wanting to get banded but i'm a little scared. I've been doing research and i ran into this forum which i think is great! There's so much information here. There's just a couple questions that i would like to know. How long does it take to get back to work? Do you feel weak after getting the band? Is it painful? I'm ready to make a lifechange, i've been overweight all my life and I want to live long. If i dont do this obesity will take over me. If there's any one from the Dallas area who got banded i would love to know where and which doctor. I would really appreciate any comments or answers. :thumbup:

I was wondering can you still take birth control pills with the lapband? How many of you are still taking birth control pills and have the band? Are they hard to swallow down? I was just curiouse since every thing you eat has to be chewed a lot and i'm on the process of getting the band soon so i'm a little worried about that. Any info is appreciated:smile:.

Hi Everyone! I'm thinking of getting my band with TLC Edge. Has anyone here gotten banded by them? Does any one recommend them? What was your experience with them? What's the first step to getting the surgery started? I know i'm going to be self-pay and i've already been to many seminars so i know what this surgery is about but i have no idea how to get started? If any one has gotten banded with TLC Edge doctors i would really appreciate any information. Thanks in advance.:wink_smile:

:confused:Ok i'm trying to set up an appointment with Dr. Castro for a consultation. I called and they told me i first had to register on line with them and that they would call me back to set up an appointment. It's been a week and a half and still no call. I tried calling them back but they told me that it takes time and that they would call me? I'm just wondering if any one has gone threw him before and if you had to go threw this process too? I'm getting a little discouraged with this doctor, i really want lapband done and i've done lots of reasearch and he's pretty good. I dont know why it's taking forever for them to call me? I told them i knew i was going to be self pay since i've tried going threw my insurance before and they denied me. Any one out there with any info please let me know. Thanks in advance.

Hello, I was wondering if any one has gone through Dr. Stewart? If any one has i would really appreciate any info on how your experience was with him and how lapband worked for you? Does any one recommend him? I heard of him through TLC Edge? Thanks in advance?

Thanks guys:smile: I appreciate all the info. My pills are pretty small, but i was just wondering if i had to crush them or not. I'll be sure to ask the surgeon on that issue i dont want to be in risk of blood clots or any thing like that. Thanks

By the sound of it, it's better to just go directly through Dr. Castro. So his price is the same ($9,990) does that include the same as TLC offers (fills, etc)? What is TLCEdge there for? Like some of you guys said there just the middle man? I wonder why he goes threw them as well? Does any one know? Hello Everyone! I'm ready to get banded. I'm ready for a life change. I've been a big girl all my life and i'm ready to change that. I know LapBand is the solution for me, i'm confidant and i have all the support in the world from my family and most important my hubby:smile:. I've tried dieting, taking pills you know the works and all i do is yo-yo back and forth. My question is how do i get all this process started? I called TLC yesterday and they sent me paperwork for me to fax back to them, they said after that they wanted to schedule an appointment with the registered dietician. How expensive is there pre-op diet? I know there cash price is $9,990 is that everything including tax?

I've looked into lapband solutions but my insurance turned me down so now i have to slef pay and there really expensive. I've been looking at TLC Edge since there cheaper but is it really how they say "You pay for what you get for"? Has any one in this area been banded? If so where and how was your experience? I would really appreaciate any information.
