Beset of luck to you Ben.... it sounds like you will be a great role model for your son, and that is something he will definetly need!! It's sad to say, but some people are better apart then togeather, this is a hard journey to make, but I think it would be even harder with an unsupportive spouse. Now you have time to focus on becoming healthy and being the best dad you can be!

I lay in my bed at night and dream of going to Onerland.....I haven't been there in a VERY VERY looong time!!! Congrats to ya!!!! That's fabulous....between you and I, I think it's much better to go slow and steady then drop it all like a hot potato....I think it gives your body time to keep up with the changes.....atleast that's what I'm HOPING!!

Sorry to hear you are feeling so bad today...I hope it passes for you soon!! Just try to focas on where you are going and not what it takes to get there.... easy for mne to say right.....I haven't walked in your shoes yet!! Good luck and hang tough, it'll be over soon! :mad2:

So I've been thinking about this alot....here are my major three.... 1. Be able to get outta the shower and wrap a regular towel around me instead of the bath sheet that is almost as tall as I am!!! 2. To shop in a store without a PLUS size section, and buy clothes without a "W" in the size!!! 3. To be able to sit down and not feel like I have to cover or hide my bulging stomach and not on the list...but what I think I look forward to the MOST......seeing my face in the mirror the way I remember it!!!

If memory serves me correct is was acutally 567 questions.... But they are all one sentence yes or no answers.... After that I then got to read more senteces and fill in the missing word and prononce a list of 50 words for the pyschatirst...talk about make me feel dumb I think the whole appt took me maybe an hour and a half.... Then I was able to go home and tell my DH and close friends that I am "Offically" NOT CRAZY (they think i snowed the Dr) It will be fine....don't stress about it, good luck on your journey

Congratulations Cari....I know exactly what you mean about the waiting....but it will be worth it in the end...sounds like you already have half the battle behind you if you are approved....everything should fly from here....Best of luck to you....

YEAH inquiring minds wanna know....

well this is me saying hello to all of you... I'm about 3 months out from my band, still jumpin thru hoops for the insurance company :smile:... If all goes well I will be gettin my band sometime in March 09...since I have started my 6 month pre-op for the insurance co I've lost about 20lbs.... But then losing weight has never been my real issue....keeping it off for the long haul is I'm hoping that the band will be the tool I need to help me find my way to a healthy life where I can feel more like my own age (or maybe even younger :thumbup:) instead of feeling like i should be in the "old folks home" most days...

GOT A DATE!!!!!!! Dr's office called this morning and said they insurance co is happy that I jumped thru all of their hoops...wooohoooo Surgery on March 26th!!! It can't come soon enough!!

I keep a couple of 32 oz plastic cups @ work....has to be more then one so I don't have the excuss of "my glass is dirty" I try to make sure I drink at least one in the morning....and another in the afternoon....sometimes i can manage three which helps since I don't usually drink anything once I get home. As for the artifical sweetners....all I have to say is this....I don't think it's really HEALTH to put anything artifical or loaded with chemicals in your mouth....not saying I haven't....don't....or never will again I use to drink Crystal Light by the boatloads....now I have given it up after putting two and two together are realizing that after drinking it i tended to get a Headache I've never been a fan of drinking Water either...but to each his own...if you need flavoring to drink your water then so be it....just think about what you are feeding yourself

Randy, CONGRATS!!!! Glad to hear that your band went so smoothly...and it sounds like you are doing a great job adjusting to the new eating habits.... I've just completed jumping thru the last of the hoops for my insurance co and now we wait..... Fingers crossed I will have my band sometime in March!! Glad to know all is going well for you...and I hope to be following behind you shortly!!

There are a handful of ppl in my life that know....my husband, my aunt/best friend....and a friend I work with...the funny thing is I'm much more comfortable talking about it with casual acquanitencs then the (other) ppl who are part daily lives..... I guess for me personally....I don't really care to hear their opinion one way or the other....I don't htink it's as much a matter of judging me as it is I'm not willing to have to defend my choice.... To me it comes down to this....it's my body, no one else knows what it is like to have to live in it....and it's is MY chioce to make period! The small handfull of people in my daily life are very supportive...and I feel like that's what I really need right now....not someone that I have to defend my desicion to.

Donnainva, I would love to know how you are feeling/doing after haveing your band placed...I am still trying to decide if Realize is the right choice for me and I would love to know how it's going for you....and most importantly!!!! CONGRATS!!!!!! :thumbup: ~M~

K...so here's my two cents worth..... It CAN be very enjoyable and Yes you CAN have amazing orgasms ( literally soak the bed)....but first and formost it's a mind thing...if you are constantly thinging how gross and disgusting it is or how much it's going to hurt then it probably will.... My hubby and I were high school sweethearts and he's wanted to do it since we were dating....I tried it a few times way back when, but had no desire....thought it was disgusting....and didn't enjoy it one bit....I guess as I have gotten older I've become more open minded and willing to try kinky things.... You have to have a partner that listens to you...slow and easy...and if it's not working for you then hit the shower and go back to what you know.... I don't know the "How" of "how is this pleasureable"......but I can tell you that if you are open minded about it and have someone that cares about you and not just getting off then you can it can be very pleasureable

The "Lifestyle" can be wonderful as long as you and your spouse are on the same page... My personal opinion is that cheating is something that you do behind your mates back, but if you choose to open your relationship as long as you both are playing because you WANT to be then you can have a wonderful time. Sex IS NOT Love....it is a physical pleasure As far as where to find someone....the internet is a WONDERFUL thing....there are plenty of clubs in most large cities and a number of sites that will introduce you to "like minded people" (and just for the record I'm willing to beat you already know some ppl that swing...you just don't know that they do)

K....I was feeling really gulity when I read the original post...but then I read on Here I thought I was the only one that gained weight in order to qualify, imagine my relief to see I'm not alone!!! I know it sounds crazy to gain weight to have weight loss surgery....but I know the surgery is my only hope pf ever gaining control of my body and my health.... So I say if your close (and don't have a money tree in your yard) then eat drink and be merry....afterall don't you pay for insurance every freaking month?!?!??? I think you deserve your chance at freedom!!
