I have been banded for only 2 and a half wks. I started mushy foods about three days ago. I chew and chew and chew (lol) but the way I tell im full is (definately weigh all my food first) then im eating if the V part of my ribs feels the slitest bit full I stop eating. Just listen to what your body is telling you. You can do this. I go to a nutritionist and she is a great help. Do you go to one? Mabe that will help you . They let you know what to eat how to eat and mine even gives me printouts of what to buy at the store. Hang in there. When were u banded?:hurray:

Keri why not saty away from the pasta and starchy foods try more protein. Wait thirty min. after eating and drink water if you are still hungry. Most of the time that fills the void of food. I was told by the my doctor this will be work nothing you want comes over nite. Good luck and don't give up.

Getting Banded Monday
robin12908 replied to DragonflyNY's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Hi Dragon I was banded on 12/9/08 I was operated at 9am and out at 1:30. No pain at all until the 3rd day and that was just a little bit where the port is. I used tylenol liquid extra strength it did the trick no pain pills needed at all. The way I handeled the day of the operation was to think this is the begining of my new life. Nothing would go wrong and it didn't. You will do great. If you need a person to talk to you can e mail me. My address is rob_marsi@yahoo.com Good luck and stay in touch (stay calm):hurray: -

Don't be nervous now the hard part is over(dealing with insurance) The operation was a breezzz for me getting use to liquids can be a bit nerve racking but think in the long run how happy you will be. Banded on 12/9/08 St Peters Hospital. I also used Dr Bertha @ ALS and have had nothing but great things to say about him and his staff. Dr Abkin is very helpful and very personable. Very very happy with results and Doctors at the office.
