I have had two band slips. With the first one I did have damage to my stomache (which they can only see in surgery to answer your question) and with the second slip I didn't. If you do have damage they may remove you band instead of revising it b/c your stomach needs to heal before it can be banded again.

I was banded in 2004 and lost 100lbs. And I did a few of the things you guys have listed. lower back tattoo sky diving dancing on the bar (just once) But my band slipped and I gained back almost 50lbs, I've lost 33lbs but it's been much more difficult this time around. I've been stuck at my current weight for awhile and sometimes I worry that I am never going to be that "skinny girl" again. So don't just make lists, really do those things b/c it was awesome while it lasted. S/237/ L/ 140/ c/ 166

That's really terrible and I hope they figure it out soon, I've had too slips and the first time I slipped I had difficulties keeping down liquid, even with an empty band. I'm also an ER nurse and it sounds to me like you need an esophogram and an endoscopy. I hope it all works out. As for hope, I have to say that even after four surgeries I love my band and it has all been worth it. What your going through now is rough but don't give up on the band. Nina -
I was orginally banded in November 2004, I lost 100lbs and was maintaining, then in November 2006 my band slipped badly. I went in to have it revised and when I woke up from surgery my doctor told me there was so much scar tissue around my the band site that she had to remove my band and I couldn't be re-banded for six weeks. In the six weeks that I had no band I gained back a lot of weight. In January 2007 my new band was put on... it lasted about 18months before it slipped too. Luckily this time there wasn't any damage and they simply changed my band from the slipped 4cc to the 10cc. So I was just rebanded in August 2008. My surgeon says that two slips is extremely rare and I was just wondering is anyone else had this happen?
